What is the most popular selling SUV in America?

The Lexus RX330

Lexus Sets All-Time Sales Record RX 330 Sales Top 10,000 Units for the First Time

Lexus today reported the best-ever sales month in its history with 26,410 units sold, up 6.3 percent from the previous record set in December 2002 and up 13.5 percent from the same period last year. In addition to record-breaking monthly sales, Lexus calendar-year-to-date sales are up 4.9 percent, to 167,065.

August sales were led by record-breaking luxury utility vehicle sales, which posted an all-time best-ever month of 14,039 units sold, up 80.3 percent. The all-new RX 330 also set an all-time record with August sales of 10,430, up 49.4 percent from 2002. GX 470 posted outstanding sales as well with 2,847 units sold.

"Demand for luxury utility vehicles continues to soar, and Lexus is positioned perfectly to take its share of sales with our three-SUV line-up," commented Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "In fact, the new RX is experiencing its best sales ever lengthening its lead as America's top-selling luxury SUV."

In addition to record-breaking new vehicle sales, Lexus Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales of 3,870 marks a 33.6 percent increase from August 2002. Calendar-year-to-date CPO sales of 27,239 are up 2.4 percent.

At first, I was skeptical, even after 2 drives, maybe I was biased having bought Moms a RX 300 but it then clicked. The RX 330 is perfect to me for a luxury SUV. Fit and finish is perfect, features are incredible, it is smooth and quiet and just screams quality. It will replace the RX 300, possible the RX 400H hybrid in our family.

Go Lexus.

It's a great truck, but I think the rear end is hideous. I can't get over it personally

It is a gorgeous car, deffinitly deserves to be number 1.

The explorer on the other hand, I cannot get why people pick that so much.

Cant say I am not thinking of the RX400H myself. By the time it's out, our RX300 will be pusing 3.5 years. I will wait for a year and then possibly pull the trigger.

C.S, they are not built in the U.S. They have a new plant in Canada but that is for base models. All AWD and loaded models will still come from Japan. They needed the new plant as they predicted more RXs sold. All 04 RXs have been built in Japan. I think production in Canaday begins later this month.

I am very, very interested in a hybrid. I think it may be wonderful.V-8 performance and I-4 economy.

Nice SUV...

But, I always thought the most popular-selling SUV in NA was whatever was 500ft wide and long and only had 0.0004 miles per gallon...
