They need to push sales for the last year (having an upcoming redesigned 2005). These cars have had so many issues, I will stay away from them.
Car looks the same for me btw.

The new sedan which based on the Golf V chassis will come to Germany in summer 2005 with new individual styling and only from the company base in Mexico.
Because VW don't want to get big exchange rates they will build the new Jetta/Bora only in Mexico.
The production in Mosel/Germany is cancelled. That make sense, because the primary market for the new car is in north america, where the Jetta is something like a cult-car, while in Germany it is only an honest and unsophisticated car for familys.
Also the Bora-category is going down and break into many niches in Germany. "The Bora is number one in the compact-sedan-category", said Bernd Pieschetsrieder, "but the market for those cars in Europe is very small and becomes smaller every year."
Because of that they are trying to escape with the follower over the Atlantic, where sedans are selling very well and a Jetta with V6-motor, all-wheel-drive and black painting is up-to-date.
But the german buyers don't have to turn down the Bora. The debut will be at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2005. After that is the debut at the american dealers and in the second halfyear 2005 the Bora will come to Europe.
It based at the new Golf-chassis (PQ35) with longer wheelbase, electrical power-steering and the all-new rear suspension. So it will have very agile handling and better comfort.
The styling will be different of the Golf's. It will get another fenders, another engine hood and also another doors.
In the interior will be more space for the legs of the passengers in the fond. The volume of the trunk grows to nearly 500litres.
The combination Golf/Golf Variant Bora/Bora Variant is cancelled and will be displaced by the new Caddy and Caddy Life and the Touran and Golf Plus.
In VW's oppinion this will be enough for Europe and the northamerican market, because in Northamerica nobody really wants to buy an estate."

The all-new Jetta, built on the same Mark V platform will be introduced about a year from now and will share the same front end as the Golf V you see in the photos above. Worldwide Jetta production is moving to Mexico for this new Mark V Jetta. A Jetta Coupe hardtop/ convertible is also expected to be introduced in the next two years.
