Well, they did improve the engine, but they just didn't want to ditch the name. I wonder what the cylinder shut-off feels like when you drive those Hemi's?

Junkster, who remembers Caddie tried this during the 70's

Apparently is doesn't feel like anything because it can't be felt.

The upcoming Accord Hybrod and Ody will have that feature as well in case you din'nt know which I doubt but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Yeah they're on crack for that one.

The SRX should be priced about 5 to 6k less then what it is. No one is buying them... wonder why?

I sat in one at the Chicago Auto Show and couldn't figure out what the big deal is. Then again, I don't understand any SUVs other than the Infiniti FX series, and I wouldn't buy one of those either.

C'mon man, SUVs have a role in society, just not for 95% of their owners

I think I liked the SRX because it was wagonesque enough that my wife would drive it.

Personally, the FX series is one of my least favorite SUVs. The "U" should be removed from their class name. If I'm getting an SUV, at very least I want to be able to toss all my stuff in the back including a bike or two. Very little usable space in those Infinitis - I was not impressed

(But they look cool)

personally, my old Pathie got me out of a lot of jams in the past...

Once, I was taking my father to the airport in the morning and the snow made me slip into the median. The snow was pretty deep, and if not for the ground clearence and low gear 4WD, I would have been stuck for at least three hours.

That's why I like them. I'd never buy one b/c of the interior. Man is that weak, just like most Infinitis.

You wouldn't have hit the median if you were in a sure-footed sedan.

Don't know about that, the car in front started swerving (a BMW, figures) and I tried to dodge it... then it just went off on it's merry way...

The gas mileage is horrendous, yes, but it was great for fishing trips and ski trips.

SOme of ya'll are tripping me out, dogging the 300C for being slow in V-6 forms, considering the TSX is not exactly the swiftest car.
A lot of people don't want big power and don't want the bigger payment and are happy with the 2 V-6 versions.

And the SRX has the same damn silly interior as the CTS. Yet its 55k loaded. Escalade money.

Silly interior as the CTS? And the Escalade has a better interior?!

Escalades suck, big time. They're horribly trashy inside and nothing more than a cheap Tahoe or Yukon. The only reason the 'slades keep selling is because of the bling factor and the rediculous rebates that GM has to offer to keep them rolling off the lot. The Escalade (and H2) is the epitome of American tackiness.

So does that make Gilbo the epitome of Canadian tackiness?

No, Gilbo's around, he was making a comparison of a civic and a S2000 on another thread.

He's actually been around today. Much of the same. Claiming the TSX can't compete with the 325 and saying the S2000 feels like a Civic below 6k. Tackiness indeed.

No worries guys, Gilbo cherry picks his arguments. He's not here because he knows that his usual folly couldn't even apply here.

The SRX is:

1. Ugly!
2. Subaru did a better job of making the Outback Wagon look better the GM did with the art and science look of the SRX. My point is that it is an over sized, Wagon not
3. I agree that the thing is over priced and for what? An over sized sunroof?
4. Here in Wichita I don't see many around, but if I see one RX, MDX, M-Class, I see ten. Some days you'll see 3-4 RX's and MDX's (respectively) at the same intersection.

And I wonder just how far Caddy plans on taking this new look of theirs? Origami!?
