Whats up with RDX owners?

It comes down to how quickly the rack is. WEC cars have similar wheels without issues, but they have incredibly fast steering racks, which isn't something you'd want on a streetcar. The wheel isn't a problem until you start turning hand over hand, and then it becomes cumbersome.

That looks super awkward. Is this wheel an option or standard?

But you’ve never driven one so your opinion is based on no experience and is therefore worthless.
Im sure Tesla designers have driven more with a yoke than you have in your entire life, if it was as bad as your worthless opinion implies then they probably wouldn’t have done it.
Until you can show me many Tesla owners hating the yoke your opinion is worthless

So does that mean what you posted is worthless?
You can use some common sense, a super quick turning ratio is not necessarily a good thing on public road for an average driver... you can figure out why that is on your own.
and the shape... seriously? You are telling me it is somehow safer and easier to use than a round or round with flat bottom steering wheel?

typically jalopnik is a rag.
But this yoke was always stupid. It was super cool as a kid in the 8os on KITT...but practical application? fuck no, worthless.

None of yall has ever driven a yoke.. your opinions are worthless.
I will wait for the Tesla owner to sue Tesla for safety negligence claiming the steering wheel is what caused a car accident, because he grabbed air during an emergency maneuverer.

...A razor-sharp steering rack is a great thing on the racetrack. On the highway, a tiny bump to the wheel would send you spearing across three lanes of traffic. For your average driver, that's a risky proposition

Or when I was stranded in Springfield, IL with two blown tires on my Model Y, that was just FUD.

Then why are you posting it here? None of us has driven it, so all of our opinions are worthless including yours.
So does that mean what you posted is worthless?

Deja Vu...
So are you just re-posting the opinionated pieces that you dont agree with?
If that is the case, we are all with you... cuz we don't agree with them either.

And apparently Unplugged Performance thought it was pretty dumb on a race car too, because they swapped it out for a round one

I bet the Lamborghini driver is making excuses saying he only got passed because his AC was on

Context is key. This was during the Hypercar Invitational - a track day for rich people (read:not race car drivers) to bomb around Laguna Seca in their six and seven figure street cars.
Pobst, a seasoned racecar driver (and a pretty good one at that), is at the helm of a prepped hill climb car and putting in hot laps. I don't think the Lambo owner needs to make any excuses.
It will be newsworthy when it breaks lap records. The current production street car lap record (which is a category the UP Tesla Plaid doesn't fit in) is held by the McLaren Senna at 1:27.62. If we look at race prepped vehicles, the Corvette C8.R ran a 1:21.483 in qualifying at Laguna in last year's IMSA race (which was subsequently the GTLM lap record there).
So yeah, it's cool to see an EV passing supercars on track, but look at the whole picture, if you're capable.
