Some news from Automotive News.

Seems like Toyota is uniting it's dealerships into becoming more uniformed.

Also, Kia is the fastest growing carmaker in Europe... how strange is that?

Kia? In Europe? Hm.

Somewhere below the links, it also says that Toyota will discontinue the productiosn for the MR2 Spyder and Celica. Now that's also strange.

I pointed that out last week...

I was hoping that the MR2 at least could live in the Toyota line-up and have the Celica move to the Scion badge... oh well.

Why stop with two? Actually, Toyota could be like GM, with 20 brands.

Lexus (Cadillac)- Luxury
Crown (Buick)- Seniors
Yamaha (Pontiac)- Performance
Toyopet (Chevrolet)- Base Level
Scion (Saturn)- Entry Level
Toy Yoda (GMC)- Trucks
Toyota- Japan only

You know, that's probably what's going to happen in the years to come throughout our lifetime in the US market. I can seriously imagine Toyota becoming another GM with various badges.
