It’s now generally agreed that Senner Tuning, based in Ingelheim am Rhein near Frankfurt in Germany, is one of the first points of call when it comes to the fine tuning of Audi A5, S5 and RS5 models. Now Senner Tuning is presenting its latest design for the brawny Audi S5 coupé with its 2012 ‘facelift’ version.

Senner Tuning has tweaked the car body of the ibis-white two-door Audi, giving it the look of the flagship RS5 model, by adding a front spoiler in RS5 design with original RS5 air intakes as well as fitting an original black RS5 radiator grille to the vehicle. Continuing the same way at the back of the vehicle, Senner has added an RS5-style rear spoiler as well as RS5 exhaust pipe end covers. The rear-design is finished with a rear window spoiler and a restrained boot lid spoiler element. Between the fenders, Senner Tuning has installed side skirts finished in carbon-fibre. The exterior rear view mirror casings are also made of shimmering mesh carbon-fibre. The characteristic Audi rings on the front and rear of the vehicle have been retained in black, and Senner Tuning have placed ‘Supercharged’ badges on the front fenders to give a little something extra. The vehicle’s number plates are illuminated by bright white LEDs.

Senner has equipped the Audi S5 with high-quality Work VS-XX light-alloy wheels with black-coloured anodised star-shaped rims and mirror-finish anodised outer rims. These 9x20 inch and 10.5x20 inch high-quality three-part wheel rims are perfectly matched to Vredestein Ultra Sessanta tyres of size 245/30R20 and 295/25R20.

A KW coilover suspension system ensures firm control while cornering at the same time as a smooth ride and great driving comfort. The coilovers offer individual vehicle lowering and the option to adjust rebound damping.

The series-standard 3.0 litre V6 engine, which, in spite of the somewhat misleading designation ‘TFSI’ is not boosted by a turbocharger, but instead by a mechanically-driven supercharger, is already an extremely powerful engine. The golden rule, however, is that you can never have enough power, and so Senner Tuning provide the option to enhance the performance of the supercharged V6 engine from 329 bhp to a whopping 429 bhp. At the same time, torque is increased from 440 to 501 Nm. Thanks to the removal of the electronic Vmax (maximum speed) blocker, Senner Tuning’s Audi S5 can fully convert its enhanced performance into forward drive and top line speed. On the vehicle shown here, Senner Tuning has installed a performance racing air filter, a two-part motor cover and a power converter which sharpens the characteristic on the electronic accelerator pedal.

A four-pipe RS5 exhaust system extending from the catalytic converter, including a downpipe and exhaust flaps, ensures the Audi S5 makes a truly awesome sound.

Senner Tuning hasn’t neglected to spruce up the colourful bicolour fine Nappa leather trim in black and magma-red with contrasting colour stitching either.
An interior set including door extensions made from coarse-mesh 600 carbon-fibre, has been fitted, as has an Audi R8 sports steering wheel, flattened at the bottom, with shift paddles and a race ring, as well as RS5 door handles, including illumination units. A DVD system can be activated to enable DVDs to be shown while driving.

Once again the summer of the present year was an excessive waiting game. Then: The hottest season of the year finally arrives and when the sun shines from the sky above, nothing can be more beautiful than cruising through its rays with a convertible.

One of the most elegant and sportive convertibles that the vehicle market has to offer at the present moment is no doubt, the Audi S5 Convertible. The company Senner Tuning from Ingelheim that has long specialized in the refinement of the Audi A5 construction series has now set itself the task of reworking the current S5 Convertible once again.

In contrast to the bright car color (glacier white metallic), Senner Tuning has refined the exterior of the car with numerous black elements. In addition to the RS5 radiator grill, the ornamental fog lamp covers and the Audi rings on the front and rear, the rear apron insert and the “super-charged” mud guard emblems in black also stand out in glamor.

Moreover, the adequate Work VS-XX rims measuring 9x20 and 10.5x20 inches with matt black rim stars and anodized external beds are kept rolling in the wheel housings. The high-grade three-piece parts were covered with flat Continental Sport Contact 5P rubbers of the dimensions 255/30R20 and 295/25R20. Thanks to the adjustable rebound and compression damping, the Bilstein B16 coilover kit allows for an individual setup.

In contrast to its TSFI siblings, the 3.0-liter V6 of the current Audi S5 is not subjected to pressure by one or more exhaust gas turbo chargers but rather “forced to breathe” by one mechanically-driven super charger. Senner Tuning boosted the performance of the serial 333 compressor engine that is concealed beneath the two-part carbon cover to a lofty 435 Horse Power, and the maximum torque grew from 440 to the present 501 Nm on a parallel basis. Moreover, a power converter sharpens the characteristic line of the electronic gas pedal and thus generates an even more aggressive throttle response while an elevation of the Vmax limitation guarantees the S5 a free run even beyond 250 km/h. To endow the newfound performance boost with stronger acoustic presence, Senner Tuning installed a 4-pipe sports exhaust system with valve control. It has such a cleverly-devised control system that allows for a regulation of the exhaust sound in its sound intensity and tone quality: it can be switched between travel, sports and race mode while driving using a remote control device. This newly developed system shows the active mode even on the display of the car radio and can – with the necessary upgrade – even output performance data, G-forces and lap times using the in-built GPS module via Bluetooth.

Senner Tuning upgraded the driver’s workplace with RS5 parts. In addition to the speedometer cover in high-gloss black, the pedal pads and the footboard are thus taken from the high rotary speed competitive sports version. Movie films can now also be enjoyed while driving thanks to the activation of the DVD system.

The Audi S5 Sportback is a known quantity in the segment of high-performance coupé limousines; its sportive gene is craftily packaged in gorgeously formed bodywork. Yet Senner Tuning saw the need for a little optimization. The Audi specialists therefore endowed the S5 Sportback with an interesting optical and technical package.

Exclusive Work Schwert SC1 rims in chromium-silver finishing as well as high-gloss anodized outer rims thus rotate in the wheel houses. The rims in front measure 9x20 inches with 91 millimeter-wide outer rims and are covered with tires of the dimension 245/30R20. The rear axle is fitted with the high-grade Work wheels of size 10.5x20 inches with 100 millimeters outer rim and tires of size 295/25R20. The high-performance tires are products of Continental and are of the type Sport Contact 5P. The tuner from Ingelheim close to Mainz installed a KW variation 3 coilover kit for an optically impressive lowering with an adjustable rebound and compression damping.

To enhance improved performance, Senner Tuning endowed the Audi S5 Sportback with a palpable upgrade: The overall power of the V6 compressor engine is boosted from 333 to its present 446 horse power and the maximum torque that was formerly 440 Nm is boosted to 511 Nm thanks to optimized engine software. Together with the elimination of the Vmax blockade, the coupé limousine from Ingolstadt now runs at a speed of 300! There was also a power converter for the elimination of the electronic drag moment during throttle response as well as an Injen Cold Air Intake system including power pipe (black edition) for the improved ventilation of the drive unit. A specially manufactured valve-type sports exhaust system (as from the catalyzer version) with a control system of the exhaust valves that are regulated on the basis of load status/dynamic pressure takes charge of processing the high-grade exhaust gases. There is also a sophisticated radio remote control system which facilitates the individual switching of the valve control system between three different modes such as: travel, sports, race. The driver is thus able to adjust the volume of the system individually. The respective status will also be shown on the MMI display if required. Finally, the S5 Sportback was also fitted with a complete vehicle wrap in black matt metallic and an LED number-plate illumination and activation of the DVD function while driving.
