SEAT: Leon news **Copa Edition news (page 1)**

"Autoblog Spanish has full coverage of the debut of SEAT's new competitor in the hot hatch wars, the Leon FR, courtesy of our man in Madrid, Alberto Ballestin.

According to What Car? Volkswagen's Spanish subsidiary is pricing its 197 hp FR at $31,910 USD, about $5,630 less than VW's GTI, which uses the same TFSI 2-liter engine.

SEAT announced that an even hotter 240 hp version of the Leon, the Cupra, will debut in July at the British Motor Show."

This 240HP version of the 2.0L FSI shows how we will also see it in the USA in different models. Sounds like the Golf/Rabbit will get a 230HP version of this in its 50th anniversary edition but I am guessing we will see it in the A3 and new TT?

Post SEAT Leon Copa Edition...

From Autoblog.es...

This weekend, at the Hockenheimring, begins the new season of the SEAT Leon Supercopa. With this occasion Seat launched a limited edition version of the Leon - the SEAT Leon Copa Edition. The SEAT Leon Copa Edition is limited to 55 units and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo FSI engine developing 285 hp and 360 Nm of torque (more than the racing version of the Leon that has 340 Nm).

The SEAT Leon Copa Edition is based on the Cupra and has a top speed of 254 km/h with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. The SEAT Leon Copa Edition needs 8.3 liters of fuel to go 100 km and has a 199 g/km CO2 emissions level.

I've never been a big fan of Seat ... Though they did have a plan for a Passat-derived coupe back in the day that looked good.

The twin stripes down the front remind of an idiot I saw that did it to his Dodge Neon.. At any rate the exterior of the Copa edition is pretty sweet, although they must have run out of cash on the interior- looks like the crap that was in the last gen Trailblazer
