Don't think there are press interior photos of the Red Line interior, but here is the interior of the standard Vue (in case you missed it, bottom of thread)......its MUCH improved.

^^ That interior is AMAZING by GM standards. Actually, it holds up extremely favorably to any of its price competitors from any country, if you ask me. I'm impressed, I hope this is a future trend for GM!

Comparing the front end of the Redline to the standard Vue, the standard Vue looks far superior.

Saturn goes green with its new models - - By Dale Jewett - - Source: Automotive News

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- Saturn is positioning itself as an eco-friendly brand starting next year with at least two models planned. The vehicles will be called Green Line.

The first, a version of the Saturn Vue SUV equipped with a fuel-saving starter/generator, goes on sale next summer as a 2007 model, says Jill Lajdziak, Saturn general manager. The starter/generator system will save fuel by shutting down the engine when the vehicle stops.

“Environmental friendliness has been a core value of Saturn, and will be an important part of its future,” Lajdziak said Tuesday at the Management Briefing Seminars. She did not name the other Green Line vehicles.

The Green Line Saturns contrasts to the brand’s high-performance offerings, marketed as the Red Line Ion and Red Line Vue.

Saturn says its upcoming Vue hybrid will be less-expensive than competition
RICHARD TRUETT | Automotive News
Posted Date: 9/8/05

The new Saturn Vue Green line gasoline-electric hybrid coming next summer will add a twist to the hybrid equation: a more affordable price.

Value, along with better fuel economy and lower emissions, will be the key selling points of the vehicle, says Tom Stephens, GM's group vice president of global powertrain.

The 2007 model will be GM's first high-volume gasoline-electric hybrid.

Stephens says GM won't charge as high a premium for the hybrid Vue as some competitors ask for their models. GM has not released the price.

Ford Motor Co. charges a premium of about $3,300 for the Escape Hybrid; Honda Motor Co. tacks on about $4,000 to the price of the Civic Hybrid sedan, and Toyota Motor Corp.'s Lexus Division charges more than $5,300 for the hybrid powertrain in the Lexus RX 400h SUV.

The Vue hybrid is less expensive to produce because, unlike Ford and Toyota hybrids, the Vue's electric motor won't propel the vehicle by itself at low speeds and won't require expensive drivetrain modifications. The Vue is a mild hybrid, which uses the electric motor for start/stop and for a boost upon acceleration. The Civic Hybrid operates in the same manner.

Although GM will save money on the Vue's powertrain, the fuel economy gains are not as big as they are on full or strong hybrids. GM expects the Vue hybrid to deliver between 12 and 15 percent, as opposed to the 20 percent gain of a full hybrid, which uses an electric motor to propel the vehicle at low speeds.

But Stephens says GM believes there are customers who want hybrids but won't spend extra money to buy one.

GM is working on a full hybrid system with DaimlerChrysler AG for its larger SUVs that will be available in the 2007 model year.

Two other hybrid vehicles are in limited production at GM. The company has made fewer than 500 diesel-electric city buses and plans 2,500 gasoline-electric pickups this year.

15 percent would be good. 12 percent is a joke.

20mpg x 1.12 = 22.4mpg

GM says its upcoming Saturn Vue Green Line will pack more bang for the hybrid buck - - By JASON STEIN | Automotive News - - Source: Autoweek

DETROIT -- General Motors is confident that its Saturn Vue Green Line will save fuel -- at a price that makes it easier for buyers to swallow the extra cost of a hybrid.

Mark LaNeve, GM North America vice president of vehicle sales, service and marketing, says a premium of $1,000 to $1,500 is "in the neighborhood" of what GM will charge for the gasoline-electric hybrid scheduled to arrive next summer.

Other automakers, such as Ford, Honda and Toyota, charge a premium of $3,000 to $5,000 for their hybrids.

A front-wheel-drive, four-cylinder version of the 2006 Saturn Vue has a sticker price of $17,990, including shipping.

When it comes to fuel economy, LaNeve says, the Vue Green Line will be a reasonably priced hybrid alternative.

"Because of the price point we will charge for it, the Vue will pay for itself over a three-year period on fuel economy," LaNeve says. "You'll save about a tank a month."

The 2007 model will be GM's first high-volume gasoline-electric hybrid. Another Saturn hybrid also is expected, but GM hasn't disclosed which nameplate it will use.

Steve Tarnowsky, assistant chief engineer for the Saturn Vue hybrid, says the vehicle's electric motor will be used for starting and stopping and for a boost on acceleration. The Vue's electric motor won't propel the vehicle by itself at low speeds, which will help reduce engineering costs.

Tarnowsky promises the Vue will represent "the best value" on the market. "There will be very good payback," he said. He would not disclose volume estimates for the Vue Green Line.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but not running the motor at low speeds means this "Hybrid" is nothing like a Civic or Accord hybrid. It's a cut-rate version that won't make as much MPG gains as other Hybrids.

Saturn Updates Vue Red Line - - Source: The Car Connection

A new front end with dramatic styling is the hallmark of the revised 2006 Saturn Vue, which will be displayed this week at the California International Auto Show in Anaheim . The revised Red Line version of the crossover sports a new front end meant to draw it closer to coming vehicles like the Saturn Sky roadster and the Aura sedan. The interior has been reworked as well, with a new center stack and console, new radios, ambient interior lighting, and an ebony leather interior. The '06 Red Line has been repriced as well; at $24,485 it's $1,240 cheaper than the 2005 model, GM said in a release.

i liked the old redline but the interior was horrible. Now it looks great....if I was in the market for something like this I would totally buy one. I think they look very agressive but smooth. Does that make sense?

Is it just me, or does that steering wheel look like they copied it straight from the new BMW 3 series?

Saturn Vue Green Line - - Source: Autoweek

Saturn Vue Green Line
The 2007 Vue Green Line Hybrid is the first GM vehicle powered by a new, more affordable hybrid system. The Vue Green Line Hybrid delivers an estimated 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway – a fuel economy improvement of about 20 percent, depending on driving conditions – at under $2,000, a significantly lower cost than other hybrid systems. When introduced, the Vue Green Line is expected to be the lowest-cost hybrid-powered SUV in the market, with the full vehicle price starting at less than $23,000.
