I'm coming out against the Bluebird on Freshalloy as well as here. I do not believe that this will be the new Sentra.
As interested as I am in the 2007 Sentra, I want to see the new Altima soon, too.

Whoa, NA Sentra got a completely unique interior and exterior from the Bluebird. I think it looks great. The current Sentra is still very popular, and sells well (for some reason). People will flock at the chance to buy a baby Maxima. I really like the minimalist interior. Very good job Nissan. I think they'll have a success with this.

Looks like a cobalt merged with a altima/maxima. Nice center stack shifter copy like honda had on the last SI

It's not that the car is in and of itself an ugly design but rather that as a Sentra we've come to expect a certain look or style. It reminds me of the huge change that took place when Toyota redesigned the Celica to look like the plane from "Deal of the Century"
I just cannot see this as an SE-R so unless they bring the Sport Compact (or whatever it's called) over here I wonder if they've just given up on the sporty sub-compact market? Or is that mini-Z going to fit in there?

Hah, I don't know what's up with Nissan. I realize they have different teams of designers working on each car but how can people in the same company produce such vastly different looking cars on every level. This thing is a disaster.

And to think... The intro was delayed a year so they could revamp the styling. I have to wonder how bad the initial design was, cause this thing is a train wreck. Looks like the Sentra will keep its position as the ugly sibling in the Nissan lineup and continue trailing the Civic and Corolla in compact sales.

2007 Nissan Sentra
The Nissan Sentra grows larger this fall for the 2007 model year and moves to a global platform shared with alliance partner Renault SA. Under the hood is the first North American application of Nissan's "MR" series of four-cylinder engine. The Sentra gets a 2.0-liter version. That engine will be mated to a continuously variable transmission or a five-speed manual transmission. The rear seats fold flat to expand trunk storage space. A high-performance SE-R version will debut in early 2007.

I was hoping the specs/price would make up for the design but I don't know what they were thinking after looking at em....

The new Sentra is also available with a wide range of unexpected amenities, ranging from the luxury of leather-appointed seating to the convenience of Nissan’s Intelligent Key keyless entry system.
