My grandmom has an 06 Murano and has not had this problem either. As far as your windows opening I know some cars the windows open if you hold unlock long enough maybe someone did it on accident with the key fob.

I really like the push button start and keyless entry. You just walk up to the car and push a little button on the door handle and it unlocks for you, jump in put your foot on the brake and hit the button and it starts right up. It's very quick and convenient.
Living with this car made me realize I like the radio controls low on the dash like in my CL. I don't have to lift my arm off the arm rest in the CL, but in the Altima I do. It's not about being lazy, it's just nice to place your arm against something when reaching for a button so when you hit a bump your arm doesn't shake around and cause you to miss what you're aiming for. I also noticed the radio buttons look very nice, they're all flush against each other and smooth... but that's not very good for finding them without looking. You have to take your eyes off the road to hit a button otherwise you have no idea where your hand is... it's just one big smooth surface. The steering wheel stereo controls would be a must in this car.
The large knobs for the climate control and volume look nice, but they don't have enough depth to get a good grip on them, and to make that worse, there is a chrome ring on the edge of them that also offers no grip. This would again be helped by the stereo controls on the wheel.
The switch to pop the trunk is just strange. It's on the left under side of the dash, low and sloping away from you so you can't really see it. And it's not even a button, but some kind of switch you have to push down, not push in like a button, but down toward the ground. And there's not much of it to get your finger on either. Very annoying.
Most of the materials are just fine for it's price range, but I hate the silver plastic on the steering wheel. It's on the steering wheel, it's going to get touched often, and it feels like the cheapest plastic ever made.
That's a lot of complaints, but you know how it is, those are the things you notice the most. It's a nice car, I would definitely recommend it if you need a cheap commuter/family car, but I guess I'm spoiled by my entry-lux CL.

oh and, cell phone + keys in the same pocket = ftl
seriously why would you do that... do you also put heavy items on top of bread in the bag at the grocery store? :P

i can understand women tossing their keys and cell phone in a purse. They don't give a crap about scratching anything.
I bet that the "very small percentage" was made up of a "large percentage" of women, and the rest was men with man-bags.

Nissan considering $3,000 car worldwide
By James R. Healey, USA TODAY
TOKYO — Just a day after unveiling a $70,000 super car, Nissan Motor CEO Carlos Ghosn described plans for a $3,000 car that could be sold worldwide.
The cheap car would be built in collaboration with Bajaj, a motorcycle maker in India that's working with Nissan and French car company Renault. Ghosn is CEO of both Nissan and Renault, which own stakes in each other and work together on some projects.

$70,000 SUPER CAR: GT-R goes on sale in the U.S. next summer.
"I can't get a $3,000 car out of Japan or France, so you have to go into a country where a $3,000 car is considered an expensive car," Ghosn said in a wide-ranging session with reporters at the Tokyo Motor Show. It opens to the public Saturday.
The Nissan-Renault-Bajaj venture was spurred by an announcement earlier this year that Tata, a large Indian company, is planning a $3,000 car for Indian markets.

I do not think cars in India are required to be safe. And with 1.1B people inside of only 1.3M sq mi, the 270 daily traffic fatalities there may actually serve as an effective method of population control. (I know it sounds harsh but, I do not mean it in a mean spirited way.)

I wonder if that is possible. Even the crappy Yugo was sold at $3990 twelve years ago in North America, and I don't think Nissan will release a car worst than the Yugo.

Don't buy a new car that is sold to rental fleets in high numbers. You're just askin' for a rapin' unless you keep the car til it dies.
