Uh it has a name...EDIX 3x2. It was the topic of discussion of the "I spotted a Fit!" thread. People thought it was a Fit, or a redesigned Fit. But it wasn't. It's a whole new car. You can find some more pics of it in that thread...

Yep ... Edix it is ... in Europe only right ... so will that be the US Acura RD-X? Sure might fit the bill size wise (smaller than MDX).

The MPV is nice, but it is too small

The wife is talking about #3 already !! So smaller than the Odyssey seems to not be in the cards

I really think the Edix is a bad azz car though. And I could totally see it fitting in to the Acura lineup in NA. I even see a little TSX in the side doors.

I seriously doubt we ever see that car is the US -- simply because Americans are too fat.

There's a smaller than Oddy minivan available in Europe - I assume this is its replacement. No matter the function it seems like European cars are better looking than equivalent NA models.

I think it's ugly, especially the rear. This car needs a more blunt front end to balance the bulbous rear end, I know the wedge look is aerodynamically superior, but it looks odd.

Really?

My Mom, Dad, and two other siblings have made numerous trips in our 1985 Toyota Camry with no big problems....we also used to do the same in our first gen MPV, and after that, our first gen Quest...and we still do now in our new MPV--all vans were about the same size. Dad and I usually share the driving and the front seats...mom and sister sit in the middle captain's chairs, and brother gets the back bench.

The only time things get a little cramped is during Christmas, and even then it's not too bad. The new MPV is even better because of that well in the trunk that the back bench folds into (adds another foot of height for cargo). I guess if your kiddies need lots of separation room, or you carry a crapload of entertainment stuff, you'd need more room. Maybe we were the exception in a higher tolerance of boredom and we all mostly get along.....

MikeMa - yep ... love that well, it's a key hidden feature of the Honda original hiding 3rd row seat.

Actually my reasons for not getting the MPV were not size and I know the new ones are bigger. I mean just to put it in perspective my family of 5 grew up in used VW Rabbits, so want and need should not be confused these days

The above MPV will be called the FR-V (Flexible Recreation Vehicle). It seems it will replace the Stream (which will still be supplied until end 2005). From 2005 on the FR-V will also be available with the 2.2 CTDi diesel engine.

Is it just me, or those the car look like the BMW SUVs except for the front end, which looks like a Mazda?

Junkster, who prefers the Fit/Jazz

Excellent form -- this is targeted directly at the BMW X3 and Mercedes A-Class.

By the time America gets an "Acura" version, it'll be priced like a TL.

Found some more pics... also of the interior...

Not a very nice dash, but at least Honda are not following the MPV trend of putting the instruments in the center of the console...

I like the grille, though. I have a strong suspicion that the new Odyssey's dash will look somewhat like that. I know we're not going to see that ball-in-socket shifter (thank God).

I like the 6 bucket seat configuration...it looks more comfortable flexible than a bench seat in the back.
