As bad as the RX is, it's nothing comared to the Fu Manchu of the GS.
None the less the RX will probably still sell #1 in volume and the GS will lag far behind the 5/E.
No thanks on the Cayenne.....the Evoque would be an ownership nightmare.
In regards to the Evoque...gotta pay if you wanna play.
And I love the new Cayenne. Never was the fan of the previous gen but the updates and new interior just are tits to me. Wouldn't be in the FX at all if both cars were available back when I was shopping.
It will most probably still dominate it's market
but if a RDX or MDX had that strange center stackup design
all the Acura drama queens on here would be up in arms
^^ Vents are below the Nav.....what are you complaining about?!?!?!?
^ the styling of the center section of the stackup witrh the curve, vents with the CD slot, and knobs. And add in a blue/green vacuum florescent clock and it's the 90's all over again.
I'm not feeling the center console but, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. The 4G RX may not be a homerun but, it definitely drove in a run or two.
In consideration of the MDX, it's probably not fair to compare a new RX with the MDX which is now six years old. I just hope Acura doesn't screw up the 3G MDX.
As far as the segment is concerned, the BMW E70 is still the benchmark at each level: xd35i, xd50i and M....bar none! Unfortunately, it's also priced beyond all those mentioned thus far.
They made it look like a tall wagon? I don't like the exterior at all. The rims I saw on autoblog looked hideous as well.
However, the interior is much better. They finally got rid of that minivan look and put the gear shift on the floor. Those middle vents look straight out of the 90's though.
Yeah I think the grill looks especially nasty on it. It works on the smaller cars like the IS, or even the bigger sporty ones like the GS, but I think it looks like ass on this and the LS. It's like they have 3 separate market segments (sport-sedan enthusiasts, rich older luxo-boat drivers and upscale soccer moms) but they're trying to force them all to go for the yougner/sportier style. Not sure how that's going to work out for them. Maybe better than the Acura beak, but possibly not by much. We shall see.
From this angle it looks good until you get to the rear door. From there it looks like they ran out of ideas/time and just pieced it together. They should have gotten rid of the hip/raise behind the rear door and the little bit of roof coming down and made it all black or make it flow better.
