440 g's? Good Lord. sorry I'd rather take a Carrera GT for that kind of money, no thought required.

ok that seems more reasonable - I just don't see it being priced at 440k...... and was surprised to see that.

Gallardo Drop-top Ups Ante - - Source: Autoexpress
We've also learned the Murciélago Roadster will star in the next Batman movie. But it's a closely guarded secret whether the Italian supercar will be in Bruce Wayne's extensive garage, or be the wheels of choice for Gotham City's latest arch-criminal.

Lambo power boost - - Source: Autocar Mag
Lamborghini is preparing a version of the Murciélago with an all-new V12 engine, as revealed by Autocar three months ago. Caught at the Nürburgring, the new car is set for a host of detailed styling changes that are claimed to improve the supercar’s aerodynamics signalled by the black elements adorning the front and rear of this prototype.
The big news, however, surrounds Lamborghini’s plans to provide the facelifted Murciélago with a new engine, replacing the current V12 that dates back to the Miura. Insiders say the power increase could be as much as an extra 50bhp, taking it to around 620bhp.

Badly needs it.?
And gav has me visiting Auto News far more often with all the great updates.
So I wonder if Lambo figured out a way to make the clutch last longer than 5K.

Its not a Supercar in the mold of the Enzo, Carrera GT or SLR. Its IMO comparable to a 575 or Vanquish both of which have under 600HP. It goes to 60 in less than 4 and through the 1/4 mile in less than 12. More power is always better and yes it probly needs it to compete but to say it badly needs it is just crazy and a exaggeration.

I mean if this Lambo is after the Enzo, when the Enzo makes 650HP, this Lambo should pull 720 Hp just to break even due to the above reasons.

I dont believe that it goes agains the 575 nor Vanquish. Both of these are GT cars with the engine up front and the moving wheels being the rear. The Murcielago is a mid engine car with AWD and quite raw at the edges. It's sporty more it is a GT.

But depending on how you look at it the top Ferrari offering is the 575. The Enzo as you know had a 1 year run of 399 cars and isn't sold or made anymore.
But I agree that the Murcy is less of a GT than either the 575 or Vanq. Still not a lim edt Supercar IMO though.

OK, then let me rephrase. ...the top Ferrari offering not necessarily in production.
THe Murcielago is certainly a limited production exotic. Just not as limited as the Enzo
