The journey of Koenigsegg, since inception, is truly incredible. It all started on August 12th 1994 when a young man, aged 22, set out to realize his childhood dream. A young man fuelled by passion, ingenuity and mind-bending will. Christian von Koenigsegg had just made up his mind to live his dream and start his own car company. The odds were stacked against him. It was a now or never moment.
His idea was to create a sports car that he felt did not currently exist and one which he believed would be desired – two essential necessities for success, Christian felt.
The concept: A lightweight mid-engined car, with a detachable, stowable hardtop. A wrap-around screen for good visibility and aerodynamics. Short overhangs with two large intercooler intakes on the side of the car, behind the mass center to aid high speed stability.
A car that looked and felt good with the top up, as well as in roadster guise, transformed in minutes with the hard top neatly tucked away inside the car. A car with a timeless efficient appearance that ages like good wine.
This was a mid-engine car concept that did not exist at the time. The CC8S was born. Every Koenigsegg created since includes this simple but effective DNA and stay true to Christian’s original vision.
It has been an amazing ride. From boyhood dream to a shining, all-conquering and powerful reality. It’s awe-inspiring stuff that dreams are made of.
Five production models with as many Guinness production car records later - it is a fact, Koenigsegg has exploded on to the scene and is here to stay.
When Christian is asked what his greatest achievement is - he says without hesitation: -Living the dream! Just imagine what the next 20 years will hold.

These days developing the world’s premier supercar takes a lot more than simply ensuring you have the quickest acceleration or highest top speed or most outrageous styling. Today, supercar brands need high-tech interfaces and connectivity options just as much as they need horsepower, and one of the most advanced in this field is Sweden’s Koenigsegg.
Koenigsegg is presenting at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show this week its limited edition One:1 supercar, whose 1,340-horsepower output makes it the most powerful production car on the planet and potentially the fastest too. But the One:1 isn’t all about brute power as it also has a pretty sophisticated suite of electronic goodies.
Working together with fellow Swedish firm Telenor Connexion, Koenigsegg is offering with its new One:1 cloud services, a web interface and an app for smartphones and tablets. The various services will enable owners to remotely track their car, its fuel level and battery status as well as access the latest software.
Koenigsegg, too, will be able to access the cars remotely, allowing it to optimize settings, install new software and monitor vehicle health all from its headquarters in Ängelholm, Sweden.
Some specific services, which are destined to be offered with future Koenigsegg models in addition to the new One:1, enables owners to get direct access to statistics such as recent runs, average speed, top speed, lap time, g force etc. They can also adjust the height of the rear wing, the firmness of the suspension, adjust the temperature, and even open the doors and windows.
“Our target market is demanding global customers who want the best-of-the-best,” Koenigsegg CEO and founder Christian von Koenigsegg said in a statement. “Telenor Connexion was the obvious choice for connecting our cars, with their broad and extensive experience in connected automotive solutions.”

Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed...
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...tival-of-speed
Koenigsegg’s new One:1 supercar, billed as the world’s most powerful production car, made its official debut back in March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but the car on show at the Swiss event was only a mock-up. Koenigsegg is still working on a prototype for the One:1 and the first time the world will get to see it in action will be at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. next month.
As Cars UK points out, Koenigsegg will bring not just its One:1 mock-up, but also a working prototype. We also hear that the prototype will be taking part in the Goodwood festival’s Michelin Supercar Run, meaning we should get a good taste of the car's insane performance level. Organized by the French tire company, the Michelin Supercar Run is a firm favorite of the Goodwood Festival of Speed as it sees the hottest and coolest supercars show off their sheer tire-smoking power.
And just in case you aren't fully up to date on the One:1's specs, its power maxes out at an incredible 1,341 horsepower. Torque, meanwhile, is 1,011 pound-feet. And considering the One:1 will weigh 1,360 (2,998 lbs) kilograms or less, it’s easy to understand why Koenigsegg is confident the One:1 will set a new land speed record for a production car. Sadly, only six of these babies will be built—and all are spoken for.
