A Kahn Design: Custom Defender (based on Land Rover Defender) news **SW 90 (page 1)**

Press release...

Having received much acclaim for fashioning his first Defender in November 2012, Afzal Kahn has given his signature stamp to a military dalliance with the Defender.

Under the Kahn expedition vehicles umbrella, the 'Chelsea truck company' introduces the aptly titled Defender wide body Military edition.

And the principal British designer, who prides himself on the professional pseudonym ‘The Road is my Catwalk’, delivers this high-impact edition with such clout; it is safe to say that this military grey game-changer would not look out of place with London, Chelsea or New York centric drivers, rock climbers and off-roaders at the helm, nor would it look weary as troops speed into combat –feeling almost unstoppable with excellent ground clearance, grip levels and good axle articulation.

To match the Iconic feel of the underlying car, the Kahn Defender is adorned with a brand new utilitarian and aggressive looking wide track arch kit which consists of lightweight extended wide wheel wings with integrated vents, embossed Kahn feature, vented headlight surrounds, side vents with mesh, bonnet vents with mesh, clear rear light lenses, clear side repeaters, clear front light lenses, crosshair headlights, Kahn prototype wing blades, Kahn prototype tailgate badge and Kahn oval tailgate badge.

But there’s more to this vehicle than just an exterior styling package. Measures that protect passengers are also available. The team at A. Kahn Design can install layers of armored plates underneath the bodywork of the Defender, without having to modify the exterior of the car. All of the windows can also be replaced with special bulletproof glass similar to glass used to protect government officials. One of the major advantages to the glass installed by A Kahn Design is that it is thinner and lighter but still offers significant protection and improved light transition to the interior.

Furthermore, a commitment to cultivate the vehicle ensures a state of the bullet-proof glass, much lighter than type of glass used to protect world statesmen is also available, ensuring maximum protection.

The Kahn Defender also scores profoundly with its luxurious cabin, there’s enough space in there to place all your belongings and then-some!

And once you've pounded through a hard day’s work, or driven through rugged terrain - you really want to ride home in a comfortable bespoke seat.

The company philosophy is to always give the customers what they want, so Afzal Kahn could for example, design you a vehicle with full colour change (to a colour of your choice) and an interior akin to, let’s say, your favourite leather reclining chair in your living room. Customers could also change the colour of the clock, or ask for anything else, the world is their oyster, so to speak.

Kahn wheels sit perfectly on any vehicle, conveying the essence of the vehicle's identity. Created using state-of-the art manufacturing and materials technology, the 8”x16” 1948 Defender wheels are finished in matte black and fit all original centre caps. With simple clean lines, soft organic surfaces on the edge of the spoke and a purposeful mechanical centre, the 1948 Defender wheels are synonymous with elegance and innovation.

A. Kahn Design is for the individual who will not submit to a life of uniformity and who will only accept perfection. Dedicated to the creation of luxury bespoke vehicles, we redesign the ordered monotony of mass produced vehicles and rebuild them into individually tailored creations.

Post A Kahn Design Land Rover White and Pearl Grey XS 90 Defender

Press release...

Expanding the appeal of the Land Rover Defender, A. Kahn Design has developed an extremely desirable XS 90 2.2 TDCI – Chelsea Wide Track edition in Fuji White/ Matt Pearl Grey.

One of the priorities in the development of the Defender XS 90 2.2 TDCI was the exceptional styling package. Commanding curvatures and firm body elements ensure the vehicle is mannered for daily driving, honouring exceptional design language.

Specially tailored for resilience and style, the exceptional styling package is characterised by lightweight design and sophisticated aerodynamics.

The look of the XS 90 is dominated by front and rear wide wings with integrated vents and bolt apertures. Additional trinkets include highly coveted 1948 Defend Alloy Wheels in Satin Black (8x16 fitted with 235x85x16” tyres), xenon crosshair headlights, bonnet vents with mesh, front grille replacement including headlight surrounds, front bumper including bumper lighting, front bumper sump guard, front and rear wing mesh inserts, side vents with mesh, exhaust shields, mud flaps, Kahn oval tailgate badge and Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover.

Driving the Kahn Defender XS 90 means you sit behind the privacy glass and pilot the engine while listening to the Kahn cross hair exhaust system.
Centred round a radical design and interconnected in order to coalesce design and engineering expression, the Kahn twin crosshair exhaust system is a first cousin only to silence and manners.

Inside is the ‘bespoke touch’, and this particular vehicle comes complete with front sports GTB racing seats and rear folding seats, instrument binnacle in grey alcantara with red and silver stitching, centre dashboard in leather & alcantara with Harris Tweed Inserts and two tone contrast stitching, tron ring lighting, door panel inserts and trims in black quilted leather & grey alcantara with silver stitching, Churchill time clock facia insert in red, billet machined leather steering wheel, hard wearing front and rear cabin floor lights, Kahn fire extinguisher, Kahn speedo & rev counter facia in red and vented foot pedals in machined aluminium.

Don’t feel limited by what we have done to the Land Rover Defender XS 90 2.2 TDCI. If you, for example, want a car with a full colour change (to a colour of your choice) and an interior akin to, let’s say your favourite leather reclining chair in your living room, we will be more than happy to oblige.

A. Kahn Design is for the individual who will not submit to a life of uniformity and who will only accept perfection. Dedicated to the creation of luxury bespoke vehicles, we redesign the ordered monotony of mass produced vehicles and rebuild them into individually tailored creations.

Post A Kahn Design Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI 90 XSi

Press release...

Judging by the attention and press columns dedicated to the Chelsea Truck Company Defender, some would say it’s eye-catching whilst others would say it makes a definitive statement.

There is only one way to find out: allow Kahn News to take centre stage with a welcome opportunity to review the Kahn Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI 90 XSi Chelsea Wide Track.

Thanks to the Afzal Kahn touch, a resurgence in all things ‘Defender’ has ensured it is suddenly very fashionable to turn this mudslinging British vehicle into a fashion icon.

As with all Kahn automobiles, this particular vehicle has been subject to superlative workmanship. Don’t be deceived by the well-groomed silhouette, however, this archetypal Tamar Blue style icon now certainly lives up to its status.

Under the guise of the Kahn expedition Vehicles Umbrella – the Kahn Defender has been adorned with a brand new utilitarian and aggressive looking wide track arch kit which consists of front and rear wide wings with integrated vents and bolt apertures, front bumper, bonnet vents, fog lamps and headlamp grilles with stainless steel mesh.

What’s it like to Drive?

Answer: The car cruises on some cool 8x16 1948 Defend wheels in satin black (fitted with 235x85x16” tyres).

It takes just one look at the Kahn Evoque to guess the perceived elephant in the room: ride quality. How does a Defender running on these wheels cope on the road, then? Answer: much, much better on the open road, we are talking about a real city slicker here. However, Take it off road for a minute and you’ll be thrilled!

Back to the exterior styling - further enhancements by means of side vents with mesh stainless steel, crosshair military headlights, exterior Kahn prototype tailgate and wing blade logos, front bumper sump guard forged in aluminum, specially adapted mud flaps, exhaust shields and Chelsea Truck Company Spare Wheel Cover are fit for those out in the city and open road.
If you drive a Ferrari you will be dealt harshly by the jealous amongst us and will probably have to endure a tirade of insults. However, once you get into a Defender all you get is people wanting to take a photo of the car and one of the things we crave the most: RESPECT!

Bespoke

Those who claim the vehicle is loud: loud it is. Loud enough to obviate passenger chat, which is a good thing if you are sick to the back teeth of nonsensical spouse verbosity.

However, a multitude of improvements to the interior allow the driver to bask in the sheer opulence on offer: front sports GTB seats in quilted, perforated leather, single spoke steering wheel clad in leather, Churchill time clock fascia insert and rev counter fascia in red. The dashboard, instrument binnacle, rear door panel and handle are adorned with Harris Tweed. The vented foot pedals are finished in machined aluminium.

One of the things that sets A.Kahn Design apart from all the others is the ability to work with the customer to design and create a truly unique interior. The ability to put together a limitless palette of colours into the fabric, leather, trim pieces, and more, is something that makes your automobile special and uniquely yours.

The company philosophy is to always give the customer what they want, so Afzal Kahn could for example, design you a vehicle with a full colour change (to a colour of your choice) and an interior akin to, let’s say your favourite leather reclining chair in your living room. Customers could also change the colour of the clock, or indeed, ask for anything else.

Verdict

So there you have it, changes to this vehicle are minimal to say the least, in most cases refinement by means of a minimalist approach results in a happy medium between customisation, luxury and design.

An attention seeking device first and a thoroughbred driving machine second – the Kahn Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI 90 XSi Chelsea Wide Track is, to put it rather simply: luscious from every single angle.

If you want a vehicle that not only fit your lifestyle and personality, but also make a statement, then this is it!

The bottom line is - by owning a Chelsea Truck Company Defender you earn people’s RESPECT!

Post A Kahn Design Land Rover Chelsea Wide Track Military Grey Defender

Press release...

Afzal Kahn has given us a choice to choose vehicles that we feel fit our lifestyle and personality and make a statement about whom we are and who we want to be.

Owning a Kahn Defender is quite a statement in itself; the workmanship and refinement that has been afforded is of a regal standard and its purposeful looks and rugged stance only emphasise that someone special is about to make an appearance.

Under the Kahn expedition vehicles umbrella, the 'Chelsea Truck Company' has bestowed upon us the military grey XS90 2.2 TDCI – Chelsea wide track.
However, don’t be deceived by the well-groomed silhouette either – this archetypal military grey brute certainly lives up to its legendary status.

Matching the Iconic feel of the underlying car, the Kahn Military Defender is adorned with a utilitarian range of enhancements which include an aggressive looking wide track arch kit which consists of front & rear wide wings with integrated vents & bolt apertures, hardwearing mud flaps, front grille with embossed Kahn branding & mesh, bonnet vents with mesh, xenon crosshair headlights, side vents with mesh, roof in satin black, Kahn oval tailgate badge, brake calipers finished in liquid red, extended wheel arches in satin black and front, rear wing vent mesh inserts, undercar Kahn logo projection floor light and the customary Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover.

Inside is the ‘bespoke touch’, and these particular vehicles comes complete with front sports GTB racing seats and rear folding seats, billet machined leather steering wheel, vented foot pedals in machined aluminium, interior entry LED lights for the rear cabin, floor mats, Kahn fire extinguisher, rev counter & Churchill time clock facia in red.

Kahn wheels sit perfectly on any vehicle, conveying the essence of the vehicle's identity. Created using state-of-the art manufacturing and materials technology, the 8 X 16” 1948 Defend wheels (fitted with 235 x85 x 16”) tyres in satin black fit all original centre caps.
