As soon as the gates open to order, I am tradding in my XF Supercharged The only complaint that I have with the current car is the seats-they don't have much bolstering at all. From the limited photos above, it looks like this has been addressed!

seems very much a bad photoshop...
I don't like this car, doesn't feel special. The XKR looks better in shape that in photos. It's stunning.
The XF on the contrary.
It's too similar to the Mondeo in the rear and the front... if the new TL is ugly this ONE is even worse.
The front lights are like the ones on the Passat upside down..

The did a great job of making this car more aggressive looking, with it being overdone. THe body kit and hood enhancements are tasteful, IMO. Well done Jag.

The 4G TL is an abomination.... its by far the WORST styled sedan from any segment at the moment. If anything, the front end looks like its derived from the Volvo S60 or S80, but even then that's not too bad since I think those cars look pretty classy too. But this XF-R is just badass looking.

And to think Ford let go of Jaguar right before/around the time the XF came out....

Although, if I could change one thing on my car (and future R version ), it would be the headlights. I would bring back the concept headlights and call it perfect.

Love it. I wonder how it'll be priced, definitely something to consider as my next car...I still can't get over how good the white one looks from a 3/4 view

Good grief... this has to be easily the best looking sedan around! I thought that the Audi A7 was special, but look at THIS! Absolute, total eye candy...

So, A7 or XF-R?

I haven't had a single problem yet. I bought it mid August and already have just over 7k miles on it. The tranny is absolutely great (have to love the lightning quick, rev-matching downshifts), and the suspension is firm, but not too much, etc, etc.

In short, I love it and can't wait to get the R version. As you said, I think I will have to go with the white-it is my new favorite.

The other cool thing about the new XFR-the de-limited top speed (with a few modifications ) . . . 225! This is a new record for Jag that beat out the previous record held by the XJ220.

I CANNOT wait until February so that I can order mine

Post XF-R Hits 225mph...

From WCF...

Previously, we told you about the Jaguar XF-R prototype, the fastest Jag ever produced by the company. Trying to separate themselves from previous ownership, and create a new image for the luxury and sport automaker, Jaguar has released a 90 second music video of the car's record breaking performance at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

There, the XF-R, a supercharged version of the XF which reaches 510 hp, topped out at 225.674 mph (363.188 km/h). This handily beat the previous fastest Jag, the XJ220, which topped out at 217 mph (350 km/h) in a 1992 run at Nardo.

At the time, the XJ220 was the fastest production car ever, a title eventually taken over by the McLaren F1. McLaren's car managed 240 mph (386 km/h) at the same track two years later.

With help from the all-new third generation AJ-V8 engine, driver Paul Gentilozzi took the XFR on its trailblazing heat. Mods to the prototype were minor, like small aerodynamic work, and safety features deemed necessary to drive on the Flats. Gentilozzi got some additional horsepower thanks to a remapped computer, retooled air intakes & exhaust, and a retuned supercharger.

A six-speed automatic, the XFR prototype gets 510PS and 625Nm of torque from the 5.0-liter engine. It goes 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The way Jaguar's marketing department has been pushing out information on this prototype, you can expect to see it hit the auto show circuit along with a production model. If you are going to be in the Detroit area, you can see the 2010 Jaguar XF-R at the North American International Auto Show.

wild car and i really respect Ta Ta motors but the only thing that concerns me and the jury still out on is dependability.
will they go toe to toe with Lexus and Acura.
I know the older Jags were complete turds. there was a joke i had with a friend who had a Jag. I asked him if he knew his service manager's name, his dog's name, kids names and wifes name and all about them cause he was always in there.
i don't know if i'd buy a Jag right now i'd give them 5-10 years to get the "ford bugs and mentality" out of Jag workers and suppliers. let them "crack the whip" for a little bit. i think Tata has a lot of potiential but it's gonna be a lot of work and time ahead of them.

I think this just may have surpassed the E60 BMW M5 as the sedan I would most like to own.
