Buyers of Jaguar’s 2005 performance model S-Type R will get a $4,125 price break over a comparable 2004 model, as the Ford-owned Brit luxury marque adjusts pricing downward to align more closely with key competitors like the BMW 545i Sport. The ’05 model, still packing the 390-hp supercharged 4.2-liter V8 but now under a lighter-weight aluminum hood, is on sale for $58,995 (vs. $63,120 for the ’04 model). Jag is also offering a Vanden Plas edition S-Type for 2005, priced at $55,295. The base 3.0-liter V6 S-Type model starts at $44,895, up $500 from ’04, while the standard S-Type 4.2-liter V8 model is up $2,000 to $51,995.

I would go nutz if i just bought an 03 R and payed 4k more for the same thing. I would littealy call jag/ford for weeks strait untill i talked to fucking bill ford himself i would be so pissed... Good for someone who didnt buy one though

Jag S-Type R is basically a 9/10th's E55 AMG for about 6/10th's the $$$. They look fookin awesome too. Way to go Jag. 
My stepdad is considering a XJR or S-Type R. This may make the decision a little harder. :P
