Rear end looks Swedish. Very aggressive front end tho.

I like the interior, and those steering wheels on the new Hondas are sweet.

It looks like a sportier evolution of the JDM Honda Odyssey. I thought the current JDM Odyssey would sell well here, but this would sell even better.

The interior is over the top and will look dated in no time at all. I like the seats and the idea of a Civic Si station wagon - just not one that screams "look at me."

how can we persuade Honda to bring the Stream to the U.S.? Maybe it'll eat into the CR-V or Odyssey sales, but it'll more likely generate a large fan base.

that's a totally different story.
Stream is a much more useful family vehicle that for people who don't have a lots of (fat) kids or don't need a V6 can enjoy.

I'm waiting for the Special Edition Version of the Stream from Honda:
It will have PDG paint, and be called the "Golden Stream" Special Edition.

Anyway, the car looks really good. Aggressively passive in a sense. I'd buy it if it's available here but it'll have to be equiped with a V6 though.

Japan Report: Honda Stream Headed To U.S. In 2009

Get ready, America: Honda will start shipping its midsize Stream minivan to the US starting in 2009, according to a source familiar with the program.
Honda might have the Odyssey as arguably the best minivan in the U.S., but Honda product planners also see a niche for a smaller model that’s also less pricey and gets better fuel mileage.
Honda first launched the Stream as a stylish, compact, three-row minivan in Japan back in 2000 and scored a monster hit. Underneath, it shares architecture with the CR-V and Civic.
When the Stream was redesigned in Japan last summer, the same compact, seven/eight-seat people moving formula carried over. However, while the driving dynamics definitely improved, the Stream’s stylistic redesign has met with mixed reviews and sales to date have been low-key.
Undeterred, Honda will relaunch an updated version of the Stream in the US for ‘09 , says our source, but only a two-row version will be coming. Also, it’s too early to know yet whether the States will get both the 1.8 and 2.0-liter gas engines from the Japanese Stream, or perhaps something else. Will the Stream arrive with optional all-wheel drive, as available in its home market? All will be revealed in time.
What do you think? Is this a smart move for Honda of America?

I actually think 2 rows is fine. 3 rows makes sense for Japan, where people are generally shorter and skinner.
How bout the Rav4 for example. Does anyone actually use the 3rd row for humans? Or is it just for bragging rights?
If I really needed a 7 seater van, and couldnt afford a new Odyssey, I would just buy a used one instead.
I would consider a Stream, assuming the second row was three seats. I like the Fit and the CRV, but would probably go for something in between, which is what the Stream is.

^ I think that's why Honda is bringing the Stream over -- not to lose sales to Mazda. This vaguely reminds me of the niche that the Matrix/Vibe and even a Subaru Outback (if the Stream has the SH-AWD or real-time AWD option) fills.
