The exterior tell tale is the grill, thats an Acura grill, but the digital speedo shown is Civic, which probably doesn't mean that much other than a shift to digital for Honda/Acura.

I say next-gen TL rather than TSX. I'd love to see some specs on this thing.

The interior is amazing.

The design says next-gen TL (evolution of current TL design), but if you check the dimensions of this concept, it falls more in line with the TSX...

Did anyone notice it's missing door handles?

Previous Honda concepts were missing side-view mirrors and windshield wipers, I wonder what missing features the future has in store...

I don't remember correctly, but I think the TL concept didn't have door handles as well.

So let me guess, it's still FWD with a 60/40 weight distribution, or SH-AWD at best...

TOKYO NEWS: Honda Previews Next Acura TSX in Sports 4 Concept

TOKYO — Visitors to the international auto show here are getting a sneak preview of the next-generation Honda Accord for Japan and Europe — and the next Acura TSX for North America.

The Honda Sports 4 concept sedan now is described by company insiders as an accurate precursor of the redesigned Accord. The new Accord will go into production in mid-2007 in Japan and will be sold in Europe and China. North American customers, however, will get a different design about the same time to replace the Ohio-built Accord.

Honda sources told Inside Line the Sports 4 also foretells the next-generation Acura TSX, which will be based once again on the European Accord and is expected in U.S. dealerships in spring 2008.

The 2008 TSX is rumored to get a high-performance, dual-overhead-cam, 2.2-liter, four-cylinder engine — perhaps a version of the 237-horsepower unit that powers the S2000 roadster — mated to a six- or seven-speed gearbox.

Honda also is preparing to launch a pair of new entry-level models in spring 2006 in the United States. Based on the home-market Fit and priced from about $12,000, the five-door hatchback and four-door sedan may carry the Jazz name — as they do in other overseas markets — and will be aimed at entry-level models from Korea, as well as the upcoming Nissan Versa sedan and hatchback.

What this means to you: Honda is bolstering its American stable with new entry-level models and a replacement for the TSX.

I wonder what the next gen TL will look like. Sometimes from faraway on a road from the front view it's hard to tell the difference between the TSX and TL.

They need to make the next gen TSX have AWD and at least 240-250hp from the 4 cyl engine.

Great news. I love the looks of that concept. Now I really look forward to the next TL... any idea when the next-gen will be introduced?

If that's the engine that will be used they better keep it real light - like down to 3000lbs. With such little displacement the tq figure is bound to be pretty low - even though by then direct injection will be standard fare. This also means a real long 07 MY with few changes from the 06 model to come out next month.

I like the design a lot, except for the G35-ish taillights.

I wish Honda would stop making the side to side design placement of those headlights. I wish they could go and do like an Infiniti or Cadillac placement of their headlight up and down instead. More diagonal than horizontal placement.

nah, they should stick with the side to side headlights. horizontal headlights are trendy right now and why would they want to copy their rivals... shoot, if its going to be a 2.2 it better be direct injected turbo

Is there a reason to do that other than to just be a copycat?
Regardless, I like the horizontal design far better because it helps lend a wide stance to the overall look of the front fascia. It's a more imposing design feature, IMHO.

Well, the only reason is just be a little different in the front design and maybe to start departing from the usual Honda type headlike look.

But, it could be worse, the current USDM Accord sedan/coupe headlights I wish also had a front styling makeover for 06, they're hideous.

2.2L I4 with 238 HP? Is that regarding the SAE measurement? Also, will it be using the "new" VTEC system? If it's using Honda's current VTEC (or any of its variants), this car will, 1.) Be even more of a dog coming off a stand-still, and 2.) consume a TON of gas in high rev ranges. I'm hoping the new VTEC system is capable of not only conserving some gas in high-rev ranges, but also maybe incorporating some better "torque-enhancement".

Imagine a 238 HP, 180 Lb./Ft. Torque, 3100 lb. TSX.

The head and tail lights look very similar to the RDX. I guess these two cars give us a good indication of the next generation Acura styling.
