Honda CRX News **Confirmed for 2007 (page 3)**

I am not sure how reliable this is but...here it is. If it's true, I agree that Honda needs the CRX back in business. We are back at the "exciting vehicles" era and the CRX was one of the most successful offerings from Honda. Especially in Europe where small cars with small engines rule.

given the present market trends....i think the CRX would be a huge cash cow for Honda.

For some reason it reminds me of a cross between an RSX and a TT...I think it would be hot.

I didn't think you could squish an RSX anymore, I guess you can.

i like the sketch a lot but its old, at least a year. they should incorporate some of the design into the si to get rid of the minivan look.

I've heard that minivan remark before and I don't quite get it. To me it looks like a Japanese take on the GTI.

I think the Si would sell much better if you had a coupe option. I'd drive a Civic Si Coupe (or this "new" CRX) but I wouldn't be cought dead in that hatch. Don't get me wrong, I like hatchbacks just fine. But the Civic hatch is just fugly.

Honda must realize that when you're designing a family sedan, conservative is good because it's has mass market appeal for a mass market car. But when you're designing something sporty, you need to be much more aggressive. You're not going to appeal to as wide of an audience but the audience has changed anyway.

I also think the new Si looks like a van. The old CRX was incredible to me. Light and nice styling. BTW, cheap cars are not cash cows, expensive cars are. The profit margins are much bigger on expensive cars.

Margins may be bigger but volume is far lower. The cheaper cars are usually the bread and butter of a company. Then, once they have a base of cheaper cars, they expand to the expensive (lower volume) stuff. Every car company has a Civic or Corolla but few have an RL or LS430...they don't make the company as much. I'm sure that's one of the reasons why Honda doesn't have something to directly compete with the Avalon.

I join the group in saying the new Si looks like a van too. I actually mistook one a minivan looking outside at the parking lot from my office window today

it would have to have alot of power to sell. The new si can't compete with the competition. The original came out with almost no competition.

I doubt that Honda will put a nice engine in it if it actually did come out. The Si is a perfect example of them underpowering what should have been a fast car. The pic looks pretty cool tho!

Nah...I don't see why they would shortchange CRX for no aparent reason. They would most likely give it the same range of engines you find in all Civics. An Si would be unlikely though.

Thumbs up Return of the Honda CRX !!

I had an '86 CRX SI and to to date I had more fun in that car than ANY other car. What is funny is I like the TSX cause it has that same handling spirit (for a 4-door ).

Sounds interesting, not sure where it would fit in the us market unless the rsx moved up.

I think that bringing back the CRX would be awesome. It'd be a great opportunity to build another great race car for the weekend racers.

, the old models see enough of that already. The new model would be just as popular, but also something ricers probably can get a hold of and rice out.

Honda needs to keep up with the latest trends and a new CRX will help with that.
