It's not a very original design...to say the least.

Guess you've never seen the JDM Honda Stream...

The more I look at it, the more I hate that rear window. Because the whole car itself doesnt look bad, in fact I'm beginning to like it. But then when I see that rear window, it just ruins everything. It looks so out of place. It would look a lot better if it was tapered down like the Infiniti FX instead of that loop look.

That CRV looks aweful. It's like something I would expect from Kia.

You know, I saw a brand new Pilot on the road today and I now understand the design Honda followed with the CR-V's front grill. The principle design method followed is similar.

Had they used the same method with ONE grille, it would probably look more coherent and less "cute".

WEIRD
I think Honda had the right gereral idea,........but blew it on some of the details,........like the double grill and that area around the window at the back. I think with a few changes it wouldnt look half bad.
I immediately though of the X5 and Volvo XC90 when I saw those pics (like others).

Here's an emerging market for Ronjon...a simple front bumper would make him reeech. I'm still waiting on the interior of the CRV to decide, I like everything but the front.

Perhaps the latest Honda plan is to design weird front & rears for their cars, and then when the 3rd year update arrives...they attempt to get it right. (See accord rear, pilot front)

They need to bring back the design team who designed the Hondas from 1996-2002.
From 1996-2002 the 6th Gen Accord coupe and sedan looked good, Prelude looked nice, S2000 was cooler than a Miata, 1st gen CRV was hip, Odyssey was conservative, and the Civic Si was cool.
Now fast forward to 2006: the US Accord is ugly, the new CRV is pathetic, Ridgeline looks like a Chevy Avalanche, Pilot to me is still a bigger 1st Gen CRV design, and the Element is ugly.
I guess I can forgive the Honda designers who came out with a nice looking new Civic, but everything else is no good to me.

I'm starting to like it.
Not really wowed by the interior, though.

I like the interior

Looks like the person who designed the Subaru B9 (Tribeca) now works for Honda.
Nice interior though. The dashboard looks fairly upscale (read: Acura) for a Honda brand vehicle.

And with the lovely interior and the new gen Navigation system ala the new Civic I really like it and may possibly pick one up in lieu of the civic seday I was already thinking about...
