The article qualifies as automotive news. If anything, the thread from Car Talk should have been moved to this sub forum.

The performance of the 2006 dream car is already the first attention-getter. The GEMBALLA GTR 650 Avalanche’s motor boasts a breathtaking 650 hp. Part of the motor’s conversion by the GEMBALLA engineers included eliciting an impressive 820 Nm torque, guaranteed to bring a satisfied smile to the driver’s lips already at 4800 RPM. In comparison, the standard Porsche 997 model features maximum 400 Nm torque at 4600 RPM. The difference puts the GTR 650 Avalanche’s sprinting qualities in a class all their own. The GTR 650 Avalanche reaches the 200 km/h mark in only 11.2 seconds, and its top speed leaves doubters in the dust: The irrepressible GTR 650 Avalanche engine delivers a maximum tempo of up to 335 km/h.
english on those numbers?

they talk about the wheel sizes in inches.. but talks all this metric language for the performance numbers. so whats going on with these in our american translations? for us US-ers..

Tuner Gemballa has further upgraded its GTR 650 Avalanche with a new kit called the "Evo Orange." The car is based on the Porsche 911 (997) Carrera. The Avalanche's motor boasts a breathtaking 650 hp and 820 Nm torque (at 4800 RPM). The car has a top speed of 210mph (335km/h) and can hit 125mph (200km/h) in just 11.2 seconds. Titanium piston rods, an intake system specially developed by Gemballa, three intercoolers and a special turbo configuration ensure longevity and reliability. Massive eight-piston brake calipers and accordingly sized 380 millimeter diameter perforated disk brakes make sure the Avalanche can also slow to a safe stop. Photos after the jump…

Damn, that's hot.

Aside from the body, that thing is barely a Porsche anymore.

beautiful.. I do have one negative comment though... the orange around the center console doesn't look good. actually if I was buying one I think I'd have to request a major toning down of the orange all throughout the interior.

BUT... I wouldn't kick it out of bed, by any means.

From Motorauthority...

Already this year has seen Gemballa release the GTR 800 EVO-R Porsche 911 variant, two Cayman S variants and a Cayenne Turbo concept, among others. Now we can add yet another creation to the list of what has to be one of the busiest tuning shops on earth: the HR Gemballa Avalanche Roadster Porsche GT.

Producing a respectable 600hp at the crank, with torque peaking at 840Nm, the Avalanche Roadster manages some quick sprints: 0-100km/h (0-62mph) takes just 3.5s. Top speed will carry the dial all the way to a reading of 320km/h (198mph). A special H&R stainless steel coil-over system has been custom built for the car, adding handling to match the potential for speed.

Inside, the standard treatment of Alcantara and nubuck leathers and carbon fiber give a suitably luxurious yet high-tech experience to those lucky enough to take a seat in the Avalanche. Outside, the Roadster sticks with the latest trend of throwing a rat-rod reminiscent coat of matte-black paint over a seriously fast car. The front fascia and side skirts add to the aggressive stealth-fighter look, and viewed from behind the dual-exhausts shout race car to the eyes and sing it to the ears.

The body work isn’t all for show, however: bigger intake scoops feed more air to the even-boostier turbos, the rear fascia features an integrated diffuser, and the exhaust has been moved to the center to avoid disturbing the airflow and thereby losing downforce
