G-Power: M3 Hurricane (based on BMW M3) news **337 Edition Revealed (page 1)**

Press release...

The combination of the terms „HURRICANE” and „G-POWER“ is not just lightening up the eyes and accelerating the heartbeat of the devoted G-POWER fans but also of every BMW loving automobile enthusiast, as well. And that’s no wonder since it is the proof that the BMW model in question is no less than the strongest and fastest of its kind in the world.

The legendary reputation of the term “G-POWER HURRICANE” has been founded already in the year 2008, when the 750 hp strong twin-supercharged G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RS has beaten the existing world record for the fastest sedan in the world for the first time, establishing a new height of 367,4 km/h. Only two years later the 800 hp strong M5 HURRICANE RR has beaten G-POWER’s own record with a top speed of 372,1 km/h. This new world record from the year 2010 is still remaining unbeaten until today. Next to the M5, G-POWER’s M6 HURRICANE RR has stirred up the BMW scene as well with several spectacular appearances on TV and YouTube. The latest G-POWER HURRICANE model so far has been the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS, based on the BMW 1M Coupé, that carries the strong heart of its bigger brother the M3 under its bonnet. Supercharged by G-POWER, the power output of the 4.0l V8 engine increases to an awesome 600 hp in the compact body of the BMW 1M Coupé. With it G-POWER is offering the little Power-Coupé in the version that has unfortunately never been provided by BMW. Accordingly G-POWER has offered all BMW M-Models in a HURRICANE version, except for the BMW M3. With the introduction of the new G-POWER M3 HURRICANE RS, G-POWER is now closing this gap in its HURRICANE lineup.

Of course the mighty G-POWER M3 SK III “Sporty Drive” supercharger system is the centerpiece of the G-POWER HURRICANE package for the BMW M3. In this stage of the well-known G-POWER M3 supercharger system the largest ASA supercharger, the ASA T1-724, encounters forged pistons from the technology partner MAHLE along with forged connecting rods plus another technical highlight. Inspired by the BMW M3 GTS the G-POWER M3 SK III “Sporty Drive” supercharger system includes a modified crankshaft. This new crankshaft increases the displacement of SK III-equipped M3 by approx. 15%, from 4.0L to 4.6L. The engine package for the G-POWER M3 HURRICANE RS is completed by a tailor-made cooling system for the SK III supercharger system that increases the capacity of the oil and water cooling circuits just like the intercooler system of the V8 engine to keep temperatures in check. A Titanium exhaust system made specifically for G-POWER ensures that exhaust gases are discharged quickly and with minimum back pressure. This system features free-flowing 100 cpsi metallic catalytic converters. In addition to the back pressure reduction it saves about 26 kg of dead weight in comparison to the stock exhaust system, too.

The extensive and substantial modifications of the BMW M3 S63 engine result in an awesome power output of 720 hp/(530 KW) and 700 Nm of torque. Equipped like that the G-POWER M3 HURRICANE RS completes the dash from 0-100 km/h in 3.7s and 0-200 km/h in 9.5s. The top speed is more than 340 km/h.

An aerodynamic package is, next to the power output enhancement, traditionally part of the G-POWER HURRICANE package. For the G-POWER M3 HURRICANE RS it contains a front spoiler, bonnet and a boot lid incl. tear-off edge. The M3 HURRICANE RS aerodynamic program is manufactured from supremely light and highly strong Carbon fibre in a gas-proof autoclave. This method of manufacturing meets the OEM standards of the automobile industry and ensures perfect fitting just like a flawless surface structure. In doing so it has been possible to achieve a weight reduction of approx. 2,6 kg for the bonnet and approx. 8,1 kg for the boot lid.

The G-POWER aerodynamic program for the M3 HURRICANE RS not only reducing the vehicle’s weight, but also increases the aerodynamic downforce. To be specific, the Carbon front spoiler generates more downforce on the front axle, while the Carbon fibre boot lid incl. tear-off edge increases the downforce on the rear axle. The G-POWER aerodynamic program is rounded off with a special bonnet, which of course cannot increase the downforce, but still is not without function. The starting point for the development of the G-POWER VENTURI bonnet was the technical necessity to remove heat from the engine compartment of the uprated engines as quickly as possible. Otherwise a loss of performance can happen, since the ECU (electronic control unite) makes use of diagrams with reduced degrees of ignition when a fixed temperature limit is reached, in order to safeguard the engine. The "DYNAMIC VENTING" Technology of the G-POWER VENTURI hood vents the engine compartment dynamically, allowing the otherwise untapped performance potential to be achieved with no additional thermal stress. Performance enhancement cannot be supported more efficiently.

When it comes to suspension systems, the G-POWER M3 HURRICANE RS is fitted with the G-POWER CLUBSPORT coil-over suspension and 20-inch G-POWER SILVERSTONE DIAMOND forged wheels. The tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in the dimension 255/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 295/25 ZR 20 for the rear axle to keep the vehicle in contact with the road. Braking is done with the G-POWER-ceramic brakes on the front and rear axle, which provide low-weight and reliable high-performance braking. „Fade“ is therefore a foreign word for the 6-piston brake calipers in front which bite on 396 mm rotors and the 4-piston calipers at the rear axle which clamp on 380 mm rotors.

That thing is awesome, but I'm confused as to why they are still investing so much time and money into the E92.

Post 2014 G-Power BMW M3 Hurricane 337 Edition

Press release...

• 615 hp / 452 kW at 8.100 rpm (+ 195 hp / 143 kW)
• 595 Nm at 5.900 rpm (+ 195 Nm)
• V-max: > 337 km/h
• 0-200 km/h: 12,2s
• G-POWER Supercharger System M3 V8 SK II CS „HURRICANE 337 Edition”
• G-POWER G3M CLUBSPORT coilover suspension
• G-POWER Breaking System for front and rear axle
• 20‘‘ G-POWER wheel set SILVERSTONE DIAMOND

The high-speed test track in Nardo in southern Italy is the ultimate challenge for all vehicle manufacturers. High temperatures and the fastest automobile race track in the world that knows only one load condition: full throttle. The 12.3 km-long route is basically a circle with a diameter of 4 km and an elevated roadway that is reminiscent of a steep curve. In practice, this results in an infinite straight line for miles of continuous full load driving, an operating condition that puts utmost load on the engine. Add uncomfortably high ambient temperatures and it simply doesn’t get any more challenging.

Already for the 4th time G-POWER is meeting the challenge of Nardo and in the meantime has established its very own philosophy. While all other teams send there, for this event especially prepared, cars on a trailer to test track, it has become a G-POWER tradition to drive the participating car the complete one-way distance of 1.500 km to Nardo on its own wheels in a “stock” G-POWER M3 that basically all customers can order in this configuration.
The set goal for this year’s participation in the event has been to break the G-POWER record for the world’s fastest BMW M3 established 2 years ago. At that time a G-POWER M3 with 570 hp SK II supercharger system achieved a top speed of 333,1 km/h. Consequently G-POWER opted this year for the stronger SK II CS version of the G-POWER M3 supercharger system.

But G-POWER’s intention is not just collecting world records per se, but to demonstrate the impressive, real-world performance of the G-POWER supercharger systems and showcase the unrestricted reliability of the engines supercharged by G-POWER. Since Nardo’s abusive environment naturally separates automotive wheat from the chaff, only those tuners who have carefully shepherded their design from development to production will survive the extreme loads in the "AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS" High-Performance-Event with no major engine damage. In addition, pushing the system to the top-speed limits in the real-world provides merciless feedback on the achieved performance improvements. Many tuners instead post performance numbers based solely on short-term dynomometer testing which are subject to many variables, and thus opens the door to abuse. It is certainly difficult to determine whether performance gains will hold up in the real world if such tests are the only ones performed.

Unfortunately it has not (yet) been possible to already improve G-POWER’s record for the fastest BMW M3 at the High-Performance-Event from AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS. A broken part worth a few cents has prevented a better result than the measured 326,2 km/h, still within the limit of the old record.
But for everybody how knows the G-POWER team and their eagerness to succeed, it goes without saying that they wouldn’t leave this business unfinished. So it is no big surprise that only two days later G-POWER M3 V8 SK II CS showed its true potential in the course of a follow-up test drive to the Nardo event. In the end the display of the GPS gauge showed an impressive 337,6 km/h (have a look at the video here: http://youtu.be/R8nQefEuwZY) – thus G-POWER has improved its own record out of 2011 from 333,1 km/h to 337,6 km/h.

In order to honor this world record for the fastest BMW M3 V8, G-POWER has now introduced a special edition of the M3 V8 SK I, SK II and SK II CS supercharger systems called „HURRICANE 337 Edition”. Carbon add-ons and a unique “HURRICANE 337 Edition” graphic design for the air box underline the exclusive character of this, in compliance to the 30 years anniversary of “first class performance”, limited special edition of 30 systems.

Core of the M3 V8 supercharger systems is the powerful ASA T1-523 radial supercharger. A High-Flow air intake incl. large racing air filter, a large volumetric intercooler system made from cast aluminium and a cast aluminium air box, set the necessary background to enable the max. boost of 0,5 bar relative, of its strongest version the SK II CS, to produce an power output of 615 hp and 595 Nm of torque. In order to keep the output enchantment weight neutral, G-POWER uses a full titanium exhaust system including a set of racing catalytic converters, which saves 26 kg compared to the factory exhaust system.

The silver BMW M3 Coupé displayed in the press pictures is the first car equipped with a G-POWER M3 V8 SK II CS “HURRICANE 337 Edition” supercharger system that has been delivered to a customer. In addition to the power output enhancement the customer has added to his order the G-POWER G3M CLUBSPOT coilover suspension, the G-POWER breaking system featuring huge 396 mm respectively 380 mm break discs for front and rear axle, and last but not least the 20 inch SILVERSTONE DIAMOND wheel set wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

The price for the G-POWER M3 V8 SK II CS “HURRICANE 337 Edition” is starting from 9.856,78 € plus installation. The G-POWER Titanium exhaust system that is mandatory for the SK II CS stage of the G-POWER M3 V8 SK II CS system is 4.542,00 € plus installation. The G-POWER GM3 CLUBSPORT coilover suspension is 2.445,00 € plus installation, the G-POWER braking system is 8.034,00 € for the front and 5.634,00 € plus installation for the rear axle and the price for the 20’’ G-POWER wheel set incl. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres is 4.474,00 €.

The car looks pretty outdated now that we have seen the new one.

And yeah, this version is certainly not helping.
