Apples and Oranges

336 ft lb versus 236 ft lb.

...and the M45 gulps gasoline...while the Jetta sips diesel.

I'd take a hybrid or diesel Odyssey in a heartbeat. As long as you could offset the cost with fuel savings in the first five years.

It really depends on how they do it. If they can get +10mpg out of a diesel you could save about $500/yr with gas prices where they are right now.

I was seriously expecting more. The Jetta is what 1/3 less of the weight of my M45? I need to replacement beater for my 97 CL, not a replacement for the M45. Thanks for pointing out that the Jetta sips diesel, I think that might be the reason why I was considering buying one. Anyways, I might see if the new Golf TDI might be more to my liking, or try out the Audi A3 TDI. BTW, why do you need to be such an abbrasive poster? Whats your problem?

Non-abrasive....just responding to your odd post comparing a Jetta TDI to an M45.....first time I've seen anyone compare the two...quite odd actually.
