Looks like the Euro Focus (and the other Ford offerings in Australia) are vastly superior to the products sold in North America. You mean they paid Mulally how much to make those decisions? (ie bring Euro and Aussie products to NA) J Mays ... or whatever his name is ... should be fired and the people responsible for bringing aforementioned products to market should "reinvent" Ford.
As someone has already said before ... Lutz wisened up with GM to bring in Australian Holden / GM Europe designs here ... why not Ford?

There is way too much reliance on the wrong kind of marketing and focus groups here in the US.
The average person doesn't know about European cars. Hell, the average American can't point out France on a map.
They need to be shown the light ... Like Bob Lutz is doing.
The argument that the Euro Focus is too expensive is bullshit. Build it in Mexico instead of that POS Focus and it becomes feasible.
Ford needs to fire anyone with the last name Ford (unless they are not related to Henry somehow). Too much nepotism and incompetence.

Ford presents 2009 Focus CC ‘Black Magic’
From Motor Authority...
Ford’s European Focus family was recently given a midlife facelift and to spruce things up further the top-end cabrio model is also now available in a limited ‘Black Magic’ trim. Like the previous Fiesta edition, the new model will be limited to just 1,500 examples and is available with either a 145hp 2.0L petrol unit or a 136hp turbodiesel.
Differentiating the car from the regular fleet is the unique ‘Panther Black’ metallic paint, 17in alloy wheels powder-coated in black, new front fog lights with chrome detailing, tinted headlights, and unique front and rear bumpers.
The car also sports tinted glass, aluminum trim on the center console and leather cladding for the steering wheel and gearshift knob as well as MP3-compatible audio system with Bluetooth. Other features include custom floor mates, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and performance tires. The car official goes on sale next month and is priced from €28,100.

LOL for a second, the coupe rear-end looked like a dwarf pickup truck... a subliminal message to encourage people to move into one of those gas guzzlers?

I drove an 08 about a month ago. I got in expecting the worst. It was surprisingly powerful, handled ok and drove ok UNTIL I had to park.
Backing up, is no fun. There could be any number of things, like a child, a curb etc that is completely obscured by the huge, high rear end.
