Optimal Cd and down force

Finding the design that matches the vehicle and the optimal aerodynamic function are the two main pretensions for the construction of body parts. The Novitec Rosso aerodynamic program for the Ferrari F430 accomplishes this accordingly. Should the observer's taste decide about the design, then the aerodynamic function is documented through expendable tests in the wind tunnel. These proof tests, usual during the development by the automobile manufacturers, are extremely rare in the automobile tuning branch, although they are essential.

In the wind tunnel of the Research Institute for Motor Vehicles in Stuttgart, the Novitec Rosso F430 Supersport reached its aim perfectly. In this special institution the driving behaviour of the cars can be reproduced at different velocities. The tests of the Novitec Rosso F430 Supersport were performed by a simulated velocity of 140 km/h. Each part of the Novitec Rosso aerodynamic program has been tested, not only single but also in combination to each other, at numerous tryouts.

The lifting effect originated by the rising velocity can be converted into negative lift force through the accurately calculated Novitec Rosso aerodynamic parts, which offers the more optimal driving stability at high velocities. The Novitec Rosso front spoiler brings the front axle to 15.2 kg down force. The Cd (drag coefficient) is reduced to 0.37. The complete aerodynamic package, including front bumper, rear diffuser, side skirts and rear wing, optimises the vehicle to 8.1 kg negative lift at the front axle and 35.3 kg at the rear axle.

The Novitec Rosso aerodynamic offers to the F430 pilots an extra in security and diving fun, especially during fast driving.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia(new version of Challenge Stradale)

The Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Michael Schumacher will officially unveil the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Ferrari 430 Scuderia will join the road-going V8 line-up alongside the F430 coupé and the F430 Spider. The 430 Scuderia is a truly high-performance 2-seater berlinetta which demonstrates how Ferrari’s Formula 1 know-how is carried across to its production cars.

The new model is a special series based on the F430 and is aimed specifically at Ferrari’s most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients. Development focused on light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology. All this to exalt the car’s extremely high-performance and ability to thrill the driver.

The new car can count on an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per hp thanks to a low dry weight of just 1250 kg - 100 kg less than the standard F430 – and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8’s 510 hp at 8500 rpm.

Superb performance both on and off the track is assured by a series of cutting-edge solutions. There is the latest F1 software - Superfast – which reduces gearchange times to just 60 milliseconds, and new traction control which, for the first time, combines the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system.

Vehicle dynamics, control and performance thus represent the zenith of Ferrari’s achievements in terms of developing road-certified sports cars.

The 430 Scuderia will be officially unveiled by Michael Schumacher on September 11 2007 at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt.

Hot. Very hot.

You'd have to be pretty hard core to find that a regular 430 was limiting your abilities on a track though.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

The new front air dam looks fantastic. The air dam on the base 430 was the only thing I didn't like on it.

The owners WISH they ONLY cost 1k each!

Given the price 430s are going for today I bet the speculators will be turning these over in the 300K range. The 360CS was a incredible machine and the Scuderia will be in a different league.

Post Ferrari produces biofuel F430...

From Top Gear...

If you had any doubt that Detroit is turning green, slowly but surely, here's your proof: a biofuel F430.

Yes, Ferrari used its Detroit stand to show off a bioethanol-powered F430 Spider as proof of its aim to cut overall emissions levels by 40 per cent by 2012.

The Spider runs on E85 bioethanol - that's fuel with 85 per cent ethanol - which, says, Ferrari, reduces CO2 output by five per cent. That's a mere, erm, 399g/km of CO2, then.

Though Ferrari says that all its current cars can run on up to 10 per cent bioethanol without modification, the F430 required a few tweaks to run on the strong stuff.

A few revisions to the fuel feed system and engine CPU did the trick and, serendipitously, helped to up power, too: the biofuel Spider puts out an extra 10bhp and 14lb ft more torque than the petrol-powered variant.

Who says you can't have your cake and eat it?

Of the car in blue? No sir...those are from Supercars.net and most of their pics are usually in the 1024X768 res.

But, give it a few days and other places like Dieselstation and/or Seriouswheels will have it on higher-res.

I'll pass. $220k gets you this and $275k gets you a 599.

I think that once you get past about $150k for a car anything above that is price-insensitive. It doesn't matter if it's $220k or $275k or $350k ... You've got to have serious money to get one.

And I'd much rather have a 599.
