Fast forwarding through a CD track?

Question Fast forwarding through a CD track?

Is there any way to fast forward through a CD track while it is playing? There are numerous CD tracks where it I would like to skip over the beginning and go to a part in the middle however it does not appear possible to do so.

I would like to know that too. The 'scan' button is useless.

Press and HOLD the track forward button. If you don't hold it, it goes to the next track, but if you hold it, it scans forward.

That's great. Thanks. I also found that one can use the joystick on the Nav screen to move between any two of the six preselected radio frequencies. That way the screen doesn't get finger smudges. I know that one can use his or her voice to change the frequency but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet and I'm not sure that's the way I like to exert control.

I'm glad we have ANY kind of audio control on the steering wheel! I was going to buy a Lexus ES300 last February until I took the test drive and found that its steering wheel has no support for radio or CD control. People say that I was crazy to wait for a similar car with finger tip audio control but I have no regrets.

Holding the >> button stops/pauses the CD. Does anyone have another suggestion?

Its not the scan button and not the >> button. Hold down the "seek/+" button while CD is playing. It will fast forward the track its playing. If you press it once...it will just jump to the next track.

of course voice activation is worth it too

Right I should have said that earlier. The reason I didn't use the seek/+ button to begin with is that I thought it controlled only the cassette player since it is located directly adjacent to the tape eject button.

Actually I did. The owner's manual doesn't explain this function. Take a look on page 131 of the manual. There it merely says that each time the SEEK+ button is presssed the player skips forward to the beginning of the next track. There is nothing I see about holding the SEEK+ button to advance WITHIN a CD track. For that one has to go to the "Quick Start Guide". One would think that reading the comprehensive owner's manual would be enough.
