I’d take a SLOWER manual over a FASTER slushbox any day.
A manual is more fun to drive and how often are you doing quarter miles runs against a clock?

How does a AT vs MT Vette dyno compare? I've heard the AT puts equal power down which isn't really the norm in the automotive world.

yeah that's true

They improved the new auto gearbox a LOT compared to the a4. As I said though, I prefer leaving it in D and hauling ass rather than using the paddle shifters. I don't know why

Fun is a matter of preference.

I have not seen Tiff have more fun on the track since he drove the Enzo. No doubt!

The only bad thing he described about the car was how jarring it gets when you go over putholes.

Tiff closes it by saying that this is the best super car value today.

I say, wait till you drive the Blue Devil Tiff

Finally, I LOVE the last second of the video where someone entered:

"Sorry Clarkson, you'll never be able to drive like Tiff"

LOL

Didn't see much wrong with Tiff's review but it sounded like the typical US magazine first drive of most any car, all highlights and no negatives. Yes I listened to the clarkson review, the only part that was worthless was between his driving time and the stigs driving time, which is a lot of bs. Add both driving times together and you have it.

Tiff stated the interior has a ways to go to match the quality of European car interiors (which is true) and he also stated the suspension is very harsh over bumps (also true). The car is great, so other than those areas, there isn't much to complain about

And what did you get out of Tiffs review, you don't have a number to put the vette ahead of a civic. The same test drive without performance numbers makes the 06 civic a hotrod also with the right camera angles.

Tiff>Clarkson. Clarkson can be funny sometimes, but he doesn't have the automotive background that Tiff has. Tiff is like the Stig without the white outfit.

GM recalls some Corvettes - - Source: Autonews.com

Separately, NHTSA said General Motors is recalling 30,793 Chevrolet Corvette cars from the 2005-2006 model years as the adhesive between the roof panel and the frame may separate and the roofs could fly off.

"If there is a complete separation, the roof panel may detach from the vehicle and it could strike another vehicle and cause injury and property damage," NHTSA said.

^That reminds me of the Z06 thread that had it's roof fly off. Good to see they're addressing the issue.

My roof squeaks & pops sometimes when the temps are really cold, but it’s not showing any signs of lifting.
And it’s fine when it’s warm and sunny out.
According to the recall notice, my car ISN'T included in the problem, but I’m skeptical.
When I get a chance I’ll probably take it in to get checked out.
I keep a roll of DUCK-TAPE in the back just in case.

I recall reading some mention about Ford GT reliability/QC in here.. so umm... yeah. consider this, a public service announcement.

http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675

I took the GT to a car show SAT, I will admit it was hot but the window was down.....I went to open the door and show the car to a person and the "satin door panel" fell to the ground........I could not believe my eyes...double back tape on a $160,000.00 car........What to do? Shocked!

hehe. what's crazy is that 7 ppl said they had the same thing happen to their cars!! Can you imagine that. As mentioned Ford has issued a TSB for the problem.

Wow! Really? Thats exactly what Clarkson said through his test drive, First!. WTF? Sounds like the truth hurts for potential real world owners.

Why did you quote me twice?

Also, I really don't have a clue as to what you are trying to get at with either of your responses as they have little relevance to the point I was making.

The entire point of my response was that you first stated this

Didn't see much wrong with Tiff's review but it sounded like the typical US magazine first drive of most any car, all highlights and no negatives
I then responded to mention that Tiff's review did not contain no negatives as I noted that he did talk about the harsh ride and bad interior.

Was I trying to compare him against Clarkson? No.

Again, how does this have any relevance to my response? I merely corrected you , in that you originally stated Tiff mentioned no negatives about the Z06 in his review, where if you watch it again, he clearly stated a few.

My response had nothing to do with performance numbers or anything related to that.

I appreciate the lap with the Stig in Top Gear - my favorite part of the show.

Corvette Blue Devil project reportedly now called Sting Ray - - Source: Autoweek

Maybe this is why the folks at General Motors can slyly smile and plausibly deny a super-powered Corvette Blue Devil is in the works. We hear Blue Devil (allegedly chosen to get the attention of GM CEO and Duke grad Rick Wagoner) is no longer the working name of the car but has been replaced by the more Corvette-centric Sting Ray moniker. Production of the $100,000 Blue, er, Sting Ray, with a supercharged 7.0-liter 600-hp V8 under its carbon fiber hood, could come as early as 2007.

600 hp from a supercharged engine? Talk about being conservative since the stock LS7 puts out 505. It will be closer to 650.

It will be a tree finder. 650 hp and 3000lbs is a solid 10 second capable car with traction.

I think think the next few years will be a good time to be a car buyer
