So these versions of the Veyron are basically just carbon fiber, some new paint, and new wheels? Or are they making more power too?

Some info from WCF...

Bugatti has surprised us today with the revealing of its open top targa version of the Veyron 16.4 called, Grand Sport. The new Bugatti will receive its public debut at this year’s Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, on August 16th, 2008 at the lawn in front of the Pebble Beach Lodge.

Bugatti is calling the Grand Sport a roadster with a removable roof. Bugatti has incorporated “innovative structural solutions”, to compensate for a lack of structural integrity normally provided by a roof, however, without sacrificing performance and safety.

The very first build slot for this new car, to be built in Spring 2009, will be auctioned the next day at the renown Gooding auction at the Equestrian Center at Pebble Beach.

Press release...

Monterey, 15th August 2008. The Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms, revealed to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, will be presented on Friday, 15th August at The Quail, a Motorsport Gathering on the Monterey Peninsula. This show has become the highlight in what is a whirlwind of ten days of events every August, when car enthusiasts from around the world gather in Monterey to celebrate the ultimate in automotive design and engineering.

This unique version of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms was first launched in Geneva in complimentary tones of ebony and toupe and ebony and brick. In order to give the customer a wider range of options Herms and Bugatti have developped four new colours schemes in line with the heritage and the values of the two houses. Therefore, the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms is now also available in these exclusive combinations : indigo blue and vermilion, indigo blue and lime green, black and garance red and Prussian blue and blue jean.

The Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms associates Bugattis technical performance with the expertise of Herms and its craftsmen. In partnership with Herms, designer Gabriele Pezzini has married the distinctive Herms style to the legendary Bugatti Veyron 16.4, magnifying the cars personality.
This remarkable car features an array of exceptional characteristics: the innovative alliance of a technologically advanced engine, delivering 1001 horsepower, with an understated yet uncompromising silhouette reflecting the high performance capacities of state-of-the-art engineering and design, and above all, the pleasure these inspire in every Bugatti owner.

The fascination exerted by this sports coup, capable of reaching 407 km/h, is due in large part to its unique alliance of the very finest motor-racing technology with comfortable handling for everyday driving. The 16-cylinder W configuration engine is fed by four turbochargers and features 64 valves, generating 1001 horsepower at 6000 rpm. The engine draws on its 8-litre displacement to deliver a maximum torque of 1250 Newton-metres between 2200 and 5500 rpm. With full-time all-wheel drive, the cars phenomenal power produces breath-takingly dynamic handling, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 benefits from aeronautical and aerospace technologies, making it the fastest production car ever made. The car also features a braking system designed to deliver unprecedented powers of deceleration, establishing a new industry benchmark. The carbon-fibre discs provide brake pressure of up to 180 bars, combined with eight-piston monobloc callipers and titanium pistons fitted with fine steel heads and ceramic heat protectors. Apply the brakes at speeds above 200 km/h, and the rear wing acts as an airbrake, positioning itself at an angle of 113 degrees in less than 0.4 seconds, augmenting the Bugatti Veyrons already impressive stopping power. The airbrake increases negative lift at the rear of the car to 300 kg, enhancing the braking torque on the rear axle. At 400 km/h, emergency braking will bring the sports car to
a complete halt in less than 10 seconds.

This, the worlds most fascinating car, has pushed back the limits of physical engineering to offer a completely new sensation for driver and passenger alike. But it has also adopted a radically different stance to that of other sports cars: its features and finish are sure to impress the most demanding clientele. Herms and designer Gabriele Pezzini have lavished attention on the interior and exterior of this exceptional car, to create the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4: the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms.

A HARMONIOUS DESIGN, INSIDE AND OUT

The official name of the highly exclusive Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms refers to the historic Herms headquarters on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honor, in the heart of Pariss eight arrondissement: the Fbg appellation evokes the houses faubourg address.

With the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms, the exacting standards of mile Herms and Ettore Bugatti come together for the first time, in an exceptional collaboration: the culmination of their extreme attention to aesthetic and technological quality and performance.

Gabriele Pezzini has reinterpreted Bugattis traditional two-toned carriage work, fostering a fluid, harmonious transition between the cars exterior and interior design. The colour of the hood extends to the interior of the cockpit, and re-emerges behind, at the level of the rear wing.

As a tribute to the celebrated 1924 Bugatti Type 35, undoubtedly the most famous of all time, thanks to its many successes on the racetrack, the new Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms features eight-spoked wheels in polished aluminium, central butterfly wheel locks branded with the letter H, and air vents around the rims reproducing the characteristics appearance of Herms saddle-stitching. The horseshoe radiator grille, and the lateral ventilation grilles flanking it, are made from lightweight alloys with a design of interlocking Hs evoking the Herms signature.

A REFINED FORMAL VOCABULARY

The inner surfaces of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms have been designed and sheathed in bull calfskin by the Herms workshops in Paris. The care and attention to detail observe an extremely refined, minimalist formal vocabulary, reflecting the tradition of the very first Bugattis and the fundamental design principles of the house of Herms. The door handles echo the fluid forms of handles on Herms travel bags and luggage. And the dashboard, traditionally finished in brushed aluminium, is here clad entirely in bull calfskin. Passengers aboard the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Herms will find a dashboard glove compartment designed to hold a selection of small travel accessories and a zipped Herms wallet. Both seats are covered in two-toned bull calfskin, and the panel separating the cockpit from the central rear engine traditionally made of carbon fibre- is covered in the same fine leather. The leather-lined trunk holds a specially-fitted Toile H and leather case, hand-made by the craftmen from the Herms workshops.

This exceptional car is priced at 1.55 million Euros (not including taxes) and is available at the end of 2008.

Post Bleu Centenaire Revealed

From WCF...

Bugatti has officially pulled the wraps off their 100th anniversary celebration by unveiling the new limited Veyron Bleu Centenaire at the Geneva Motor Show. Created as a one off anniversary model, the Bleu Centenaire features a unique exterior as well as Bugatti's awe-inspiring 8.0-liter 16 cylinder quad-turbocharged engine which produces 1001 hp and 1250 Nm of torque.

The exterior is covered in traditional Bugatti blue but in an interesting twist, the brand's classic two-tone paint scheme lives on despite the car's mono-tone appearance. Upon closer inspection, the Bleu Centenaire actually features a unique combination of "sprintblue matt" and "sprintblue gloss" paint. Other exterior details include special polished anodized-aluminum rearview mirrors, mesh grille inserts, exclusive Centenaire wheels, and bright red brake-capillars.

Befitting of such a bespoke model, the interior features exclusive snowbeige leather seats with quilting and a leather-wrapped center console.

The new model also marks the debut of several new items such as LED lighting, park distance control and a rearview camera that will become standard across the Bugatti lineup.

Pricing for the limited edition Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire starts at 1,35 Million Euro.

The company also included new information about the Veyron's production status by stating that they delivered nearly 200 out of the 250 cars that have been ordered so far. This means that only 50 more Veyron's will be produced, effectively signaling the end for what is perhaps one of the greatest automotive achievements many of us will see in our lifetime. On a lighter note, production of the new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport will start this April and over its lifetime only 150 units will be built.

The Bleu Centenaire wasn't the only limited edition Veyron on the floor at the Geneva Motor Show. While Bugatti has created a wide array of individualization programs for its supercar, German tuner Mansory saw fit to create its own and displayed a revised version of the Veyron dubbed the Linea Vincero. We got our first look at the car back in December when it was mysteriously pictured on a dealer web site, but with its official unveiling we now have full details from Mansory. Exterior modifications are relatively subtle and include a new front fascia, shorter hood, LED daytime running lights, side skirts, a diffuser, larger side and rear air outlets and new forged wheels. The interior features carbon fiber accents, special leather seating and trim and an ambient lighting system utilizing LEDs. Unlike the other Veyron models, the Vincero comes with a power upgrade, up to 1109 bhp and 967 lb-ft torque, thanks to an upgraded cooling system and exhaust system. With a total of three planned for production, the Linea Vincero could very well be one of the more popular color combinations out there. More details can be found in the press release from Mansory after the jump.

How many of these "special editions" are they going to come up with? Seems like very couple of months there's a new one that comes up.

It's like every customer gets their own "edition".

Post Gold Bugatti Veyron

From Motor Authority: http://www.motorauthority.com/gold-b...es-excess.html

We've seen gold-plated Aston Martins and even Fiat 500s, but until now the cars receiving the treatment have largely been worth less than their paint jobs once all was said and done, save rare specimens like the gold-ensconced Rolls Royce Phantom - but not this time. A gold Bugatti Veyron out of Dubai brings together opulence and excess in a way few people can fully envision.

It certainly takes a special kind of eye to look at a $1.75 million Bugatti Veyron and think, "I'd like to draw more attention...I think I'll paint it gold." But that's exactly what the car's Kuwaiti owner did. The combination with tan offers a color combo that's at once eye-catching and also nearly camouflaged with its resident environment - the desert.

The car isn't just a freak-show garage queen, however, and it does get driven. It's been spotted out and about in Kuwait by media, the public and even a few speeding cameras. But the owner also coddles it as one might expect, treating it to the occasional $10,000 detail job and storing it in a climate-controlled atmospheric chamber inside the garage.

For more outrageous custom Bugattery, check out the Vincero by Mansory, the Sang Noir by Bugatti or the Fbg par Hermès.

2010 Bugatti 16/4 Veyron ‘Nocturne’

Press release...

Bugatti honours the importance of the Middle East market with 2 unique cars and a special series of only 5 Veyrons for the Middle East market Dubai, 15th December 2009 - Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. finishes its Centenary celebrations with three tailor made cars, especially developed for its discerning clientele in the Middle East: the Veyron "Sang d'Argent", the Grand Sport "Soleil de Nuit" and the Veyron "Nocturne", limited to five cars only.

The Veyron "Nocturne" strikes with an extraordinary partition of surfaces never used so far, giving the car a new dimension of lateral length. Bugatti is experimenting with galvanized side windows continuing the line of the polished aluminium upper body parts to the rear of the car and contrast vividly with the uni black of the side- and door-panels and the roof. Added to that is the hood, also covered in polished aluminium which emphasizes this impression of elegant length. Special polished custom rims at the exterior and a futuristic interior dominated by a black nanocoated magnesium dashboard and a centre console in galvanized Platinum complete this unique combination of individualized modern design. This mini series has been especially developed for the Middle East Market honouring its importance and its strong partners in the area - Al Habtoor Motors, UAE, Al Zayani Trading Co., Kuwait, Al Ghassan Motors, Saudi Arabia and Dana Motors, Quatar.

The cars will be available for delivery in the first quarter of 2010. Their prices range from 1.65 Mio Euro for the five car series of the "Nocturne" to 1.45 Mio Euro for the "Sang d'Argent" and 1.55 Mio for the "Soleil de Nuit", the Veyron and Grand Sport one-off models. All these models are a visible proof of how creativeness and inspiration can be successfully driven to new limits. Bugatti's constant strive for new technology, more power with less weight, more innovative design aiming for improved speed, easier handling and more inspiring elegance has become legendary. Bugatti's sophisticated individualization and personalization program has opened new opportunities for the creative and discerning customers found in the Middle East. New materials have widened the range of personalized options and have led to combinations and applications of different varieties of high tech elements never seen before. Thus Bugatti chose the Dubai Motor Show to present these new combinations the first and only time to a broader public.
