Spy Shots: 2008 BMW X5 - - Source: The Car Connection
BMW will replace the X5 sport-ute in the 2008 model year with a new model that will offer seven-passenger seating.
At first sight the second-generation X5 looks much like its predecessor. However, a closer look shows that the new car is about 6.3 inches longer and 2.4 inches wider than the current vehicle. The extra room enables BMW to install a third-row seat in the X5.
The size boost will be met by more powerful engines, including diesels for Europe and a range of U.S.-bound engines, including a 3.0-liter six with about 250 hp and a 5.0-liter V-8 with about 367 hp.
The new off-roader will incorporate many new technical gadgets, like a radar cruise control and night vision. An evolution of BMW's xDrive system is in place, as is advanced wheel-by-wheel traction control.
The new X5 will be shown this fall, and should go on sale early next year in the U.S. -Hans G. Lehmann/Hidden Image

Looks like PS to me but oh well...........
ROOSENDAAL, Holland — Saint-Gobain Autover, a well-established supplier of automotive glass in Europe, features a photo and some details of the second-generation BMW X5 on its Web site ahead of the automaker's official release date.
The site announces the supplier's role in the second-generation BMW X5 (developed under the code name E70).
According to Autover, "The second-generation X5 model will be larger and more versatile, with a seven-seat interior option; it will feature all-new suspension, revised diesel engines and new [gasoline] V8s." Apparently the V8s will be lifted from the 7 Series and available in 4.0-, 5.0- and 5.8-liter versions.
The car will still be built at BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina assembly plant. Its North American debut is expected in October.
What this means to you: If you've been waiting to see if you can fit your five kids into the next-generation X5, Autover serves up the answer.

Interior is clean. I like it more than any other BMW interior, despite the similarities. This one looks more toned down, and none of that stupid door handle that goes from top of window sill to the bottom of the door.

So, I wouldn't be all that shocked to see design elements from the 5 make it to the X5.

More or less my first thought........fake
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/06/...s-stir-online/
Today, an erroneous media report claimed to reveal the 2007 BMW X5 thanks to a "leaked" press photo. The report was based on an image published by Autover, a supplier of automotive glass in Europe that had a small writeup on the next-generation X5. However, the image is most certainly not of the new X5. In fact, it's an artist's rendering from early 2005. We can only assume Autover included the picture for illustration purposes. The image — which Edmunds went as far as saying was "courtesy of BMW North America" — shows a current-generation X5 with BMW 5-Series headlights grafted onto the front end and a ridiculous side skirt along the doors. Recent spy shots, however, reveal a very different headlight design. See the fake image and actual photos courtesy of KillBoy after the jump…
