I miss my 03 CL-S :(
There was an 09 moving like he wanted to race me on the beltway last night. Stupid because there was too much traffic to go over 65, and stupid because, really? M3 vs a 2.0T A4? LOL.
It sure sounded nice when he would WOT though!

i am very confused...
1. Then the current E90/92 335 owners should be very pissed.... most of their cars are all 45-50k sticker and now the new E9x 335 will replace 328, so all of a sudden 335's price just dropped 10k. How is that going to affect 07-09 335 used car prices? since techinically for what you pay for the used 335, you can get a new 335 with 280hp....
2. Who the fuck is going to buy a M3 when all 335 340 and M3 are all 6 cylinder with Turbo(s)...The whole point of buying M3 is high rev V8 or I6 (E46)...that s one of the biggest selling point for M3 other than it being M3.
3. New G has 340HP? and you guys are excited? yes 340 is alot. but mine has 330 already.... 10 more HP and they wanna compete with 340?
E90/92 335 (300HP) is already faster than G37 (330HP)... how is G37 gonna compete with the new 340 without going V8 or Turbo? G50 or G37T (detuned RWD GTR)

New details have emerged about BMW's facelifted 2011 3-Series Coupe and Convertible (E92/E93).
As our previous spy photos have shown, the updated 3-Series will feature modified bumpers, new LED taillights, and revised fog lights. Other changes will include new colors choices (both interior and exterior), Anthracite Bamboo wood trim, and revised paddle shifters. The M-Sport package will now feature 19-inch wheels (instead of 18-inchers) and automatic high beam assist will become an optional extra.
More importantly, BimmerFile is reporting BMW will offer a new "iS" model for the United States. It will boast a double-clutch transmission (a 'Sport Automatic' will also be available), an aerodynamic body kit, and several M styling cues.
Power will likely be provided by the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six used in the Z4 sDrive35is. This means the 3-Series iS will have at least 246kW (335 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which should allow it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 5.2 seconds.
Look for the updated E92 and E93 to appear at the Geneva Motor Show in March. An official announcement is expected the coming weeks.

Burning Brakes
I'm sure if the new M3 has incredible performance, people will fall in line and buy it regardless of what's under the hood. Besides, don't forget that the original M3 was an inline 4 w/ a wimpy 192 hp or so (granted, it was an awesome inline 4 related to BMW's 1000+ hp formula 1 engine) but the E30 M3 was still slower than a current gen Civic Si.

Safety Car
I don't think people care too much about engine size, cylinders or configuration as long as it performs and the car sounds good. Many people were up in arms about the GTR motor being based on a derivative of Nissan's VQ V6 engine rather than the traditional RB inline 6 twin turbo motors... until the test numbers started coming out showing that the GTR could run 1/4 mile times in the mid 11s. Then, no one cared anymore that it wasn't an inline 6.
