The taillights resemble those from the Supra now that they don't dip into the bumpers anymore.

I wonder if that RSX-S lip spoiler fits the TSX... I've seen many Euro-R's with DC5R spoilers, so could be a possibility.

Ohhh the tachometer is like our TSX.

I like it!

By the way, how much will the base retail for? And the Type-S ?

People complaining about the extra pounds are forgetting about the 10 extra HP. It may not sound like a huge gain (and it's not), but the power to weight ratio actually goes up even with the extra weight. That's a good thing.

I will have to say the new model has less distinction than the outgoing model - too Civic-ish for me. Give me a last-gen Prelude any day over this one. Wonder if there will be another RSX or if they'll move it over into Honda.

Sure, power to weight goes up, but the tires are the same = less cornering.

I'm not bitching since I won't have one, but I just wonder where it all came from. Airbags?

RSX-S now gets 17's actually. The added weight came from the increased structural stiffness and larger sway bars and tires. No airbags were added.

Does anyone know if the RSX already had side airbags like the TSX? Honda is supposed to have all their models equipped with them by MY 06.

All RSXs have side air bags (as in side of the seat), but not curtain air bags. They've had them since introduction.

So then its strange then that they wouldn't add then for this refresh. I guess they either plan to add them next year or maybe the car won't be around?

Or am I mistaken. Is it Side Airbags Honda's promised across the board for 06 and not Curtain AirBags?

Here's the news breif.

http://www.hondanews.com/CatID1003?m...asc&archives=t

* All Honda and Acura vehicles, with the exception of a small number of specialty vehicles, will get Front Side Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags and Anti-Lock Brakes as standard equipment before the end of calendar year 2006.
* All Honda and Acura light trucks, including all SUVs and minivans, will be equipped with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and rollover sensors for side curtain airbag deployment before the end of calendar year 2006.
* Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, offering enhanced occupant protection with reduced aggressivity toward other vehicles, will be applied to all new vehicle platforms in the U.S. and globally over the next six to seven years. The 2005 model Honda Odyssey minivan and Acura RL sedan will be the first U.S. models to carry this new technology.
* In its efforts to improve safety for all road users, Honda will further expand the use of features designed to reduce injuries to pedestrians from the current industry-leading eight models.
Small number of speialty vehicles I guess includes the RSX.

Maybe, but if Honda holds the 5 year cycle on the RSX we'll be seeing a new one in the fall of calendar year 06, as an '07 (which would allow it to comply with Honda's statement because they'd put them in at the redesign).

Think its a bigger problem for the TSX considering the weight, price, and its a sedan.

The TSX has enough power to compete with it's luxury rivals (325i, A4, IS300, etc) so I have no problem with its power. The RSX, however, has enough power to compete with some of the industry's cheapest coupes (tC, Celica, Tib, etc). This is where I have a problem. A luxury automaker gives you just enough power to compete with entry level cars and ignores the equivalent segment in their rival companies, that's where I have a problem.

RSX has more power than a 325ci, a4 1.8t coupe, mercedes c230. The tsx and rsx share the same problem, non luxury cars costing less have more power. Think its even worse with the tsx considering the accord outpowers it, the rsx has no rival from honda as far as being outpowered.

Agreed. No way I would get a "luxury" TSX when it can be outmuscled by a V6 Accord.

the RSX refresh looks like they are trying to make the RSX look more like the old integra....the new headlights and tail lights are going back to the older style of the integra...interesting design choices. it looks good, but interesting that they would want to go back to an older look

New one kind of looks like a Mazda 3 or something from certain angles. I had a Trip loaner for about 2 days whne my CL was in the shop, I did not like it at ALL.

why doesnt honda/acura just get some balls and start doing forced induction and get it over with. virtually everyone of their vehicles would greatly benefit from a turbo or a S/C.

I just saw a commercial for the "210hp Acura RSX Type S" on TV and thought it looked really good in motion.

Anyone else seen it yet?

I think the new headlights look Pontiac-ish. Especially in the little "Build and Price" picture on acura.com....

very favorable review, sounds like its a good refresh for the RSX. Now I wonder, does the 04 RSX and TSX have the same master cyclinder since we share brakes? And could the 05 master cyclinder be put into the TSX if its bigger.
