This price reset is not temporary phenomena.
Acura usually not rise prices monthly like Tesla. This Acura MDX Type S price will stay constant until 2023 model year.
what is so advance about giant steering wheel and giant screens on face?

For those wondering who would spend $75k on an MDX, I absolutely would if I was currently in the market for a vehicle. There is no competing vehicle from any other manufacturer that tempts me, and the looks and feature set of the Type S Advance MDX are perfect for me.

Yeah, that Benz interior looks way better. No one cares about air suspension and brembos for a family SUV. They care about space, luxury, and speed. For those things the Benz absolutely destroys this thing.

There are going to be very few people buying a MDX-S, mainly only Acura fanbois who have the means but that's about it. I hardly see any newer MDX's on the road these days but see TONS of GLE, GLS, X5, X7, Q7, Q5, etc etc etc all over. Shit I see way more Volvos XC90s and Infinitis than MDXs.

how is Benz interior better?. it feel cramped for three row.
MDX maximum cargo is 95 cubic feet. even third row has 36inch head room. MDX width is 78inch. MDX Type S give you 9.4inch clearance.
GLE max cargo is 74 cubic feet. GLE width is 85inch
GLE width not easy to park on most garages.

Acura's 2023 MDX will come with a host of additional elements for the next model year, as the brand announced today. First, the flagship of the Acura brand will get three years of AcuraLink as standard, as well as the Acura Maintenance Package for the first two years or 24,000 miles (ca. 38,624 km). We also have pricing information.
24 photos

The AcuraLink system will be standard and complimentary for three years with every 2023 Acura MDX and Acura MDX Type S purchase. Moreover, the package will include the Security and Remote Packages at no extra cost to the customer.

In stock form, the 2023 MDX comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 290 hp at 6,200 rpm, along with a peak torque of 267 lb.-ft (362 Nm) at 4,700 rpm. It has a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The Type S model comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 motor that pumps out 355 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, while peak torque sits at 354 lb.-ft (479 Nm), and is achieved between 1,400 and 5,000 rpm. Its ten-speed automatic transmission has been performance-tuned, as Acura notes.

The fourth-gen MDX is available in both front-wheel-drive and SH-AWD variants, although the former is the entry-level version. The FWD MDX comes with an EPA-rated MPG rating of 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.

The SH-AWD variant has an EPA estimated MPG rating of 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The Type S version has 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 19 combined MPG, according to the EPA ratings.

Another benefit that the customers of the 2023 Acura MDX will get as standard is the Acura Maintenance Package. The complimentary maintenance plan will cover select factory-scheduled maintenance, like standard oil and filter changes, as well as tire rotation and multi-point inspections. Terms and conditions may apply, so go ahead and read them before signing on the dotted line.

The Acura Maintenance plan is fully transferrable to subsequent owners while still active, so those who sell their vehicles while they are still covered by it will be able to transfer that benefit to the next owner. The standard coverage, included with the purchase, is of two years or 24,000 miles (about 38,624 km), whichever comes first.

As Acura notes, the 2023 MDX starts at an MSRP of $49,050 without destination and handling, in its base spec. An SH-AWD variant of the MDX will have an MSRP of $51,250, while the MDX Type S starts at an MSRP of $67,350.

It is important to note that dealer prices may vary, as Acura notes, and the MSRP plus the $1,195 destination charge does not include tax, license, registration, premium paints, and accessories.

MDX A-Spec, for buyers who desire an even sportier appearance, now offers a more aggressive front fascia shared with the MDX Type S, a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille with redesigned grille mesh, blacked-out exterior treatment, A-Spec badges and redesigned 20-inch wheels. The Technology Package and Advance Package also receive new 20-inch wheel designs.

The styling of the more powerful MDX Type S is further enhanced with a new frameless Diamond Pentagon grille with redesigned open-surface mesh, which provides airflow to its exclusive Type S Turbo V6 engine, and redesigned Berlina Black 21-inch split-spoke wheels with a machined finish. Type S is further differentiated with an exclusive rear diffuser, large quad exhaust outlets and red Brembo® 4-piston front brake calipers.

Two exciting new paint colors are available for the first time on MDX: the all-new Canyon River Blue Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl, which debuted on the 2024 TLX.

More Standard Tech

Inside, Acura customers will find even more advanced tech and cutting-edge connectivity smartly integrated in MDX for a premium cabin experience. All 2025 MDX models now feature a new 12.3-inch touchscreen interface featuring Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ capability are also standard.

Complementing the new touchscreen interface is a more functional center console to further advance the cabin experience with increased storage and improved access to the standard wireless charging pad.

Every 2025 MDX features the latest generation of AcuraLink™, with in-vehicle 4GLTE Wi-Fi compatibility, over-the-air software update capability and a wide array of available cloud-based services, including emergency roadside assistance, remote locking/unlocking and engine start.

Bang & Olufsen Luxury Audio

Acura has long been recognized for its outstanding audio performance and the 2025 MDX is the latest model to feature an immersive audio experience developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen. Two new innovative, world-class Bang & Olufsen audio systems have been developed exclusively for the Acura MDX to elevate the in-vehicle audio experience with class-leading performance and powerful and sophisticated concert hall sound.

At the top of the MDX lineup, the 2025 MDX Type S with Advance Package exclusively features a new 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen's luxury audio system. Boasting six more speakers than the outgoing system, it is the most powerful Acura audio system ever with Bang & Olufsen Acoustic Lens Tweeters, an 8.8" subwoofer, two amplifiers, 24 channels of power and an incredible 31 speakers, including 12 mounted in the headliner.

The MDX with Technology Package, MDX with Advance Package, and MDX A-Spec models get a new 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system featuring 16 channels with Acoustic Lens Tweeters, and four speakers in the headliner.

The two bespoke Acura audio systems feature Bang & Olufsen's latest 3D Sound Control, as well as the brand's exclusive Beosonic™ feature and proprietary Acoustic Lens Technology. Bang & Olufsen's intuitive Beosonic™ one-touch sound control interface enables Acura MDX clients to create a personal in-car audio experience with four distinct audio moods: Bright, Energetic, Warm and Relaxed. Bang & Olufsen's Acoustic Lens Technology uniformly disperses high frequencies horizontally 180 degrees while limiting vertical reflections, improving the overall sense of space and realism for all passengers as they hear every note and every nuanced sound.

Moreover, brushed aluminum speaker grilles laser etched with the Bang & Olufsen logos further enhance MDX's premium interior design.

The standard MDX audio system receives two additional speakers for 2025.

Enhanced Safety & Driver Assistive Features

The Acura MDX sets the benchmark for both active and passive safety performance and driver-assistive systems in the premium 3-row SUV class with Acura's ACE™ body structure, next-generation front passenger airbag technology and the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies - all standard.

Standard on the MDX Type S with Advance Package, the new AcuraWatch™ 360 system is equipped with new and improved hardware, including an updated front long-range millimeter wave radar behind the Acura emblem, an updated front camera at the top of the windshield, new millimeter wave radars at all four corners, and a new steering wheel touch sensor. Together, this hardware enables multiple new driver assistance features, including Active Lane Change Assist, Lane Change Collision Mitigation, and Front Cross Traffic Warning.

AcuraWatch™ 360 hardware also enhances existing driver assistance and collision avoidance technology, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with smoother acceleration and deceleration, longer-range blind spot information system (BSI), and more capable Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) that can detect oncoming vehicles and additional potential collision scenarios. You can find more information on AcuraWatch™ 360 here.

For 2025, the standard AcuraWatch™ suite of safety and driver assistive technologies on other MDX grades also has been updated for enhanced performance, with expanded functions of a new front single-lens sensor camera with higher detection accuracy and new grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar; both the camera and radar have a wider field of view. The significantly more capable hardware improves collision avoidance performance via improved ability to recognize attributes of objects, such as vehicles, bicycles or pedestrians, as well as white lines and road boundaries like curbs and road signs.

In the rear, the blind spot information (BSI) system's warning range increased, enabling Lane Change Alert, which can help alert the driver to detected vehicles approaching from behind in adjacent lanes.

On MDX, the AcuraWatch™ suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies includes CMBS™ with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW), LKAS and the Traffic Sign Recognition System. Adaptive Cruise Control with Cornering Speed Assist, which determines curvature of the lane and reduces vehicle speed when ACC is active, is new to all MDX models. You can find more information on AcuraWatch™ here.

Also standard on every MDX for 2025 is a new rear seatbelt reminder system, which uses visual and audible cues to notify the driver whether rear seat occupants have buckled, or then unbuckled, their seatbelts.

Quieter Cabin

For an even more premium experience, the 2025 Acura MDX with Technology Package, Advance Package and MDX A-Spec models receive extensive updates to reduce road noise in the cabin by approximately 10%, including upgraded front and rear fender liners and additional door insulators. To further reduce wind noise, the rear doors now feature laminated glass.

Turbocharged Type S Performance

At the heart of the MDX Type S is the Turbo V6, a 24-valve, dual-overhead cam 3.0-liter engine that is exclusive to Type S, with direct-injection and a single twin-scroll turbocharger, producing 355 horsepower (SAE Net @ 5,500 rpm) and 354 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE Net @ 1,400 - 5,000 rpm). The engine was developed by some of the company's most experienced powertrain engineers, including members of championship winning motorsports programs.

The best performing MDX ever, the turbocharged Type S also features a sport-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission, double-wishbone front suspension, Brembo® front brakes and Type S-exclusive Sport+ driving mode. Power is distributed through Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ system with true torque vectoring, which is also available on all MDX models. The rear-biased system is capable of sending up to 70% of torque to the rear axle, and 100% of that to the outside rear wheel.

Made in America

The 2025 Acura MDX and MDX Type S are built exclusively in East Liberty, Ohio on the same production line as the Acura RDX. All Acura engines, including the MDX's 3.5-liter V6 and 3.0-liter Type S Turbo V6, are made exclusively at the company's Anna, Ohio, engine plant. The MDX was designed in Los Angeles and engineered at the company's R&D facilities in Raymond, Ohio.

The biggest thing to come out of this is that they are going away from the dumbass track pad.

This was absolutely necessary and I'm so fricken happy to see Acura using their heads for once! I'm actually impressed even because Acura will literally stick to a failing recipe for 2 decades before even considering it as an issue and yet here just 5 years in and they realized how absolutely stupid and pointless the trackpad B.S was. Very welcome move and IMO will absolutely help sell more units.

From what I've read it is lifted out of the Accord so they didn't have to waste a lot of R&D money either.

I will say though I am not loving what they did with the center console, it looks like it's missing something now.

The only reason we didn't buy the MDX back when we were looking for a new car was because of the dumb trackpad. Loved everything else about it but that one thing pushed us in a different direction.

I would not be surprised if this was the case for a lot of people. Not only for the MDX but also the RDX and TLX.

The current generation RDX IMO was a snowball's throw away from perfection and would have catapulted the RDX to best in class sales EASILY if not for that stupid trackpad. I am currently looking at grabbing a 3G RDX but I have to admit the trackpad is my biggest concern. I am kind of surprised the aftermarket hasn't yet come up with a plug and play touch screen solution. I am very curious to see how much sales improve with this change.

Maybe I'm more tech-oriented and flexible than the average consumer, but the couple of times I've had loaner cars from my Acura service department that had the trackpad, it took something like 6.7 seconds for me to figure it out and get done what I wanted to with the infotainment. Over time I've used touchscreens, control knobs, and now trackpads and they all have their pros and cons. I just don't get the visceral hatred of the trackpad or why it's use would be a deal-breaker for people who otherwise love a vehicle.

Did you try it with carplay or android auto?

It is not that the trackpad has an issue per se, it is that the Carplay/Android Auto interface were designed to keep frequent stuff far apart from each other on opposite corners with less useful stuff in the middle.

On a touchscreen or a count-the-click 3rd gen dial, it is quick and easy to get from one frequent item to the next. On a swipe-swip-swipe ui for carplay/android auto, you have to swip through a bunch of useless crap to get to the next useful thing, with swipes with the trackpad often doubleswiping and forcing you to go back, and the Android Auto ui locking you out for 15 seconds of too many successive swipes, the touchpad UI is dangerous to drive with.

It is all about UI and interface matching each other. The touchpad works great with the builtin UI, and with Acura ceding the 2025 UI to google they had to go touchscreen and they did.

I ignored 2022-2024 because of the touchpad, so am now paying attention to the 2025 again. My current thoughts are that the air suspension and massaging seats are a huge plus, but not enough for me to pay (both purchase price plus added fuel/brakes costs) to upgrade from my 2020 hybrid without Acura adding handsfree highway driving. Plus we use the 2nd row center console storage a lot and would rather not lose that. It's close but still a no to 2025 at this time for me. I'm thinking handsfree driving or the expiration of my Acuracare warranty, whichever comes first, will likely be the trigger to buy the next MDX. A couple years for a CPO 2025 MDX TypeS would be the most likely outcome. If the US can get their infrastructure fixed so every highway rest area always has a 15 minute-no-wait supercharger available then I might go for a CPO 2024 ZDX TypeS.

Both bespoke Acura audio systems feature Bang & Olufsen's latest 3D Sound Control, as well as the brand's exclusive Beosonic™ feature and proprietary Acoustic Lens Technology. Moreover, brushed aluminum speaker grilles laser etched with the Bang & Olufsen logos further enhance MDX's premium interior design.

Quieter Cabin

For an even more premium experience, extensive updates were made to reduce road noise by 10% in the 2025 Acura MDX with Technology Package, Advance Package and MDX A-Spec models. New measures include upgraded front and rear fender liners, additional door insulators and laminated glass in the rear doors to further reduce wind noise.
