AC Schnitzer: ACS3 (based on BMW 3-Series) news **2012 Saloon Revealed (page 1)**

The 3-series offers a superb basis for creating an AC Schnitzer ACS3 from an already excellent BMW.
It is precisely this challenge which currently faces our engineers and designers. They are developing a range which on completion will leave nothing to be desired.
The first challenge is to develop a performance upgrade for the 2.0d. This will comprise a special Control Unit Program and take the power of the M47D20 TU standard engine to around 147 kW / 200 HP.

For all engine variants we are developing sports rear silencers made from stainless steel which will improve the exhaust gas flow. The "chromed" finish comes from the Racing tailpipe, which is available already for purely visual enhancement .

To further improve the driving dynamics, our engineers are currently working on a wealth of suspension components. The first step, already successfully completed, was the implementation of a spring kit which lowers the vehicle by around 25 - 30 mm. In the next stage, the specifications for the suspension engineers include a complete sports suspension and antiroll bar kit with racing strut brace for the front

The complete modification will perceptibly improve the driving behaviour of the new 3-series for more sports performance with no significant loss of comfort, and also substantially increase safety reserves.

Type II and Type III alloys and racing rims are already available. Wheel/tyre combinations are possible in various sizes from 17" to maximum 19", with 225/35 R 19 (front) and 255/30 R 19 (rear) or optionally 235/35 R 19 (all round).

The avant-garde Type IV alloy with its optional chrome elements constitutes a true highlight in the wheels sector and is also available.

In addition, the latest AC Schnitzer Type IV wheels with their ultramodern look appear custom-made for the latest 3-series. The maximum tyre size is the same as for Type II and Type III wheels.

The appearance of the new 3-series is enhanced by the striking aerodynamic conversion. Depending on personal taste, the customer has a choice between the sports style variant and the Chromeline Design (for the side skirts). In the sports variant, the side skirts are painted completely in body colour. In the Chromeline variant, additional chromed elements are used. The BMW E90 is given a quite unique expression thanks to the new front spoiler. This makes the 3-series look even lower and at the same time improves downforce.

Aerodynamic balance is provided by the rear roof spoiler, the one-piece rear spoiler and the rear skirt with its striking underfloor wing profile. The AC Schnitzer aerodynamic range is completed by the sports mirrors.

For the interior, a carbon interior trim in "Exclusive" silver is available with matching sports airbag steering wheels. Already we have a range of aluminium accessories such as e.g. gearknobs, handbrake handle, pedals, footrests and a cover for the BMW "i-Drive System". Velours footmats complete the range.

Front looks good but that roof spoiler is just... barf. Same goes for the wacky diffuser, and the trunk spoiler is too big.

Those five-single-spoke wheels are really nice though, kind of remind me of the RonJons.

I like the star wheels in general but the car overall doesn't look great with what they've done, interior looks fine.

ACS is very good at making looking BMW's. I am pretty mixed with Bangles results but every one of those AC models sucks.

AC Schnitzer did a much better job on the last gen BMWs. Their new design direction is just terrible... (that goes for both ACS and BMW)

2009 AC Schnitzer BMW ACS3 3.5d Coupe Nardo World Record

Press release...

AC Schnitzer ACS3 3.5d Coupé reaches 288.7 km/h in Nardò

It's a hat-trick: for the third time, AC Schnitzer has gone to Nardò in southern Italy and brought home a third world record for Aachen.

The legendary high-speed circuit has already been the setting for so many records. Once a year in southern Italy, under the aegis of “CONTINENTAL AG” and in collaboration with the editors of “AUTO BILD sportscars”, the 'creme de la crème' of vehicle tuners go head to head - this year on 18th and 19th October 2009.

The AC Schnitzer ACS3 3.5d Coupé succeeded in breaking the world record from 2006 for the fastest road-legal diesel car by over 8.7 km/h.

288.7 km/h

was the figure on the display of the GPS speedometer system on the 13 km long high-speed circuit - which is in principle a giant oversized circle - after the fast lap of the AC Schnitzer ACS3 3.5d Coupé.

After the records from 2006 with the TENSION as the fastest road-legal BMW, the world record still held by the GP3.10 GAS POWERED from 2007 for gas-powered vehicles, the ACS3 3.5d Coupé (based on the BMW 335d) has continued the success story.

Naturally the power upgrade which took the latest world record holder to success is part of the extensive AC Schnitzer special accessory range and available for all vehicles based on the 3.5d engine. It is TÜV-approved and available from BMW dealers.

Another impressive performance in Nardò came from the AC Schnitzer ACS4 3.5 turbo (based on the BMW Z4 sdrive 35i). At 303.1 km/h, this was not a new world, but such a high speed is almost unheard of for a Roadster. The Z4 was also running with the commercial version of the
AC Schnitzer performance upgrade for 3.5i engines. Quickly, as we found out.

Post 2012 AC Schnitzer BMW 328i Saloon

Press release...

It's still quite new on the market but already has many admirers: In February, the new BMW 3-series was launched officially. Now the smart, energetic Bavarian is winning even more hearts at the international Motor Show in Geneva - helped by the tuning specialists at AC Schnitzer. The Aachen-based experts from AC Schnitzer help the 3-series make an even more impressive appearance with a performance upgrade for the BMW 328i. An extra control unit allows it to deliver 217 kW/ 295 HP and a maximum torque of 410 Nm onto the asphalt, and with its governed top speed of 250 km/h the 3-series by AC Schnitzer tightens the bonds to its driver. As appearances are also important, these inner values are reflected in the AC Schnitzer engine styling.

The saloon makes itself heard with the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with two chromed "Racing“ tailpipes in right/left combination.

In the 328i by AC Schnitzer, you ride out life's ups and downs on the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit. In combination with lowering, this ensures that you can never lose ground adhesion even on turbulent, twisty events. This is guaranteed with the AC Schnitzer wheels Type IV BiColor and silver, Type VI and Type VIII in 18 to 20 inch, which form a solid yet sporting and elegant basis for the wheelarches.

A new addition to the AC Schnitzer range is the Type VIII wheel in BiColor silver. This comes in 18, 19 and 20 inch and impresses with its sporting elegance. The colouring - lacquered silver with bright turned aluminium accents - makes it appear even larger.

The ACS3 reveals its inner values with the AC Schnitzer "Black Line“ aluminium cover for the BMW "i-Drive“ system controller, the "Black Line“ aluminium handbrake handle, the aluminium pedal set, foot rests and floot mats in velours. But that's not all:

The aerodynamic components from AC Schnitzer make the already excellent standard model into a vehicle with even more dynamism and sporting ambitions. The AC Schnitzer front spoiler, chromed front grille, rear roof spoiler, rear spoiler and rear skirt extension, complemented by designer stripes, can already be admired in Geneva but will only be available commercially from summer 2012. This delay will certainly not harm the perfect partner for "driving life" for many fans: after all, you don't give everything away on the first date!

What's up with the "2.8" turbo sticker on the engine cover? These cars come with 2.0 liter turbo engines and I'm 100% positive AC Schnitzer didn't bore out the engine to 2.8 liters.
