I kinda like the glossy look better. Remember when BMW first introduced the idea of "furniture grade" wood in the 7-series and I didn't like the whole matte finish in that either. Think the gloss really adds a richness/depth to the wood that a matte finish can't.

Its also a little weird Infiniti doesn't have any real pics of the 06 G with a wood interior.

I posted this pic of it on page 3. It's from Infiniti's website.

It's beautiful. The Rosewood has a natural sheen to it that the 7-Series didn't have... the 7 look almost unfinished. You can have a finished, matte look without being glossy.

Yea I saw the pic and was surprised, I only seen something like it in the aftermarket for earlier G's. But on their site I don't see any pics of a wood interior even though its listed. I see your pic came from their site, yet I can't even find it for viewing or wallpaper etc like the sport interior...

The 7-Series uses poplar wood, which is darker so you won't see the sheen as much. But it's there. i don't know if BMW changed it now, there were a lot of criticism about the poplar wood when the new 7-Series debuted, notably that it was so dark you couldn't even see the grain.

Your right, ofcourse. But you're mistaken as to which concept he was refering to. He was talking about the Infiniti Coupe Concept, which is a very accurate precursor to the next G Coupe.

The beautiful Coupe Concept...

The beast GTR Proto Concept...

Two different Infiniti models coming to us soon.

The only sedan pic I've seen was one from an Asian mag - it looked a lot more like the coupe but with 4-doors (which people seem to want). Then again the likelyhood of it being accurate is not very good.

Yeah. I'm hoping that the sedan moves closer to a four door version of the coupe concept... while I like the looks of the current sedan, I think the current coupe's looks are much nicer, and I'm only interested in the next sedan. It'd be nicer to have a sleeker look to it.

I wish the solar eclispe gauges on the M was backlit up in blue and the numbers in white or light red like VW.

Or better let you change the backlight color like on the Mustang GT.

That would be nice, but infiniti is making it a point to be different from everyone else.

notice how a site with 90% Acura owners "wants" an Infiniti. Hey Acura, if you really do look at our boards, keep that fact in mind

Too late ... I'm already sold. Just waiting for the NY Autoshow to see/hear confirmation if the coupe comes out in late 2006-2007 or 2008. I hope it's the former ... but we'll see.

And yes -- please keep the interior looking more like the M ... lose the current G look.

Hehehe... yeah right. Sorry guys, I've already been lost to them. At this point, waiting to see the sedan's almost a formality. Unless it's a totaly disaster, that's what I'll be driving...

wood is overrated and i think it looks hideous in the G. thankfully it's an option and not standard.

Ironic you mention the Fit ... I was at the Detroit Autoshow and took pics of it. Of course, it was locked. This would be the 'back-up' auto if the 2nd gen g35c does not come out. The GF needs a car for the fall / winter. I was intending on passing down my car and getting the g35c.

However ... if it doesn't pan out, the Fit would be my alternate vehicle. (She drive the Fit; I keep my TLS).

Sadly, my Volks won't fit on the Fit.

It's been said here before, that Acura is the entry level luxury car that we buy before moving up the a BMW/Infiniti/Lexus

I was trying to detect the sarcasm in there, but didn't feel it.

mrdeeno -- absolutely not joking. My cousin owns a JDM Fit in Malaysia. I rode in it over a year ago. That thing is spacious and handles very well. Easy to park and lots of parts to modify it. Almost like a Scion (but no Scion in Canada). Just the 14" rims look so small (but practical).

The GF is not convinced about a Fit (she likes her Corolla but doesn't like how unstable it feels with crosswinds).

Now ... going back O/T... still not sure if Infiniti will bring out a smaller engine to the G-series. Anyone in Japan hearing otherwise? Haven't heard anything over at g35driver.

If it's actuallly anything like the M's, it won't be that tough to use. It's like i-drive for dummys, lol. I was able to use it easily.

i think the problem with the 'i-drive' in bmws is that you HAVE to use it for complex AND simple things, like changing presets.

With the new systems like the one in the M, i can change the radio 4 different ways: voice, steering wheel, preset buttons or tuner knob, or the i-drive thingy.

to be perfectly honest, I think the only reason you'd HAVE to use the i-drive thing (it has buttons with a rotating bevel to "scroll" through options) is to move around the map or to select letters if you're not going to use voice function. And the voice function works GREAT!

i haven't used the RL's but I'll assume that the RL's is as easy, if not easier, to use.

The RL's is easier to use than the M's, but the M's is nowhere near as bad as i-Drive. It's way more intuitive (although I have to admit I don't mind i-Drive).
