Yet Another Subwoofer question

Hi all,
So I have a 2003 Tl-S that has an aftermarket headunit that I've wired into the factory amp / sub. I'm now looking into replacing both and I absolutely do not want to install a sub box. So I'm therefor looking for something that will "fit" into the factory sub location. I'm aware of the low profile pioneer units but I was looking for alternatives and I've looked at most of the threads. If I go with the Rockford Fosgate I'll post up my experience and install.

I've seen the P3SD2-8 online and it looks like it might work but I'm not sure. Anyone else have any experience with it or any others?

I was looking at the same sub today online. It's a 2 ohm, 150w rms, 8" shallow mount with a mounting depth of 2.66 inches. It sounds like a viable option for replacing the stock 40w in the TL.

As Gragorin asked, has anyone used this sub? If not, what are everyone's opinions on swapping the stock sub for this? Personally, I have a pioneer 35 x 4 amp that I would use to power just the sub.

I am hoping to use an LOC to tap into the stock amp, run it to the Pioneer amp and then to the sub.

Please post up reviews if you do decide to try it out.
Thanks.

Can I ask a quick question? Do you know if the sub in my 2003 TL has it's own amp? I need to replace the head unit but was told at Best Buy that a new unit would blow out the sub because of too much power.

The factory sub has its own amplifier. Best buy's installers, as usual, don't know what they're talking about.
