Hey all, I've got a specific question that I couldnt find the anwser to in previous threads. Ive got a 2 channel 1200 watt amp and im looking to power one dual voice coil subwoffer that has a 900 max power and 450 rms. how can I wire this so that I dont blow the damn thing out my trunk? Also, is there a way to wire it through the stock bose amp? Thanks for the input

How much RMS is one channel given out from your AMP?

Yes you can use your stock Bose amp to wire it up. How?

1.) Either get a LOC ( Line Output Converator ), or use the amps line output. With the LOC you get RCA cables, with the amp, you dont. Its the same thing though.

2. ) You have to 3 way splice the cables so you can add additonal speaker wires. You need 4 additional speaker wires I believe.

3. ) Run those wire to a LOC or to the amp, which ever way you perfer.

4. ) Complete your setup then

As for the REM wire, I used my fuse box to get current.

well my sub is a 2 ohm dual voice coil and my amp is 1200 watts ACH; 200x2 at 4 ohms rms; 400x2 at 2 ohms rms; and 800x1 at 4 ohms. 900 watts peak and 450 rms for my subwoofer. Im just worried about blowing the sub....what setup should I use? 400X2?

That amp is a little too much for that sub. You will basically be sending 400 watts rms to each vc. Each voice coil can handle 225 watts rms. You can do it, but be careful. It won't take much for that amp to blow that sub.
