What are your opinions about either of these batteries. I'd be using it as a starting battery only, not as a second battery. I have a decent size sound system going in soon. (about 2000w rms) thanks for any input in advance

i have several yellow tops and a red top, my personal opinion on them is that they are not as well made as they used to be. when they work, they work well. but ive had to replace them too many times under warranty to put any faith into them anymore. next time i need a battery i will look for something else.

 

i use a redtop battery for a starter. and my kenitik hc2000 in the rear. im fine for 2-3k rms.
but yellowtops arent made for car audio. you ned a high charge/discharge rate. as mentioned above about xs power. they arent worth the money if you are just starting out. kenitik and shuriken are your best bets. good luck on your audio path!
