Y does my bass get 2x louder on radio than CD?
OK guys here is the problem. On friday I installed an amp and 3 tens to my factory deck. I used the hi/low converter guy. The installer tapped into the rear speakers for the hi/lo switch. Everything sounds good and hits fairly hard. I set the gain on my amp to the settings that i like when i am playin a CD, but when i switch to Fm radio, the bass gets really high, and i dont like it to be all bass and no luyrics. What is causing this? Am i gona have to live with this becasue I am not changing my deck or what?

Find beauty in dissonance
CDs have more bandwidth than FM. Instead of losing the lower frequency sounds, FM broadcast shifts and adds them to their lowest brodcast range. Just an example: sounds from 50-199 Hz don't fit within the FM range. They are shifted to 200-350 Hz and added to sound in that range. So the 200-450 sound is 'boosted' with the 50-199 sound.
Someone with an EM book might be able to give you a more accurate answer. It is something you have to live with. Can you get a remote bass control for your amp? Using a hi/lo converter will not cause the differences between FM and CDs. How is the gain, Low Pass Filter, and bass boost adjusted on the amp? Bass on headunit? You may be able to get better sound with different settings.
