XM Radio free, semi urgent Blitzsafe help needed.

Best Buys had the Pioneer GEX-FM903 Xm costs $99. Pioneer has a rebate on their site for $100 rebate. Just buy the antenna, pay for installation. Circuit City and Best Buy had no clue what blitzsafe was. The one installer I talked to said I could use a blitzsafe but it would have to take the CD input and would not have a CD player then. Is that true? If it uses a input, what do you do? Take the tape player spot? Please help guys.

well the blitzsafe adapter connects to the cd changer port.. the indash cd player will work the same you will not be able to an an external cd changer... check out www.blitzsafe.com for more info on the blitzsafe adapter... but it is pretty straight foward... bestbuy and circuit city installers usually dont know there a$$ for a hole in the ground and i would not let them touch my acura... but something this easy i really dont think that could mess anything up... alot of people have been able to install the blitzsafe without even removing the headunit...

Any idea what part # for a 2003 TL? I'm a little confused cuz the blitzsafe site has 3 different makes, Alpine, Pioneer, and Delphi. Now if I was to get one, from what I understand is, if I hit the CD button once, it'll access the internal cd changer. If I hit the CD button twice, it'll access the aux input? So I would need to get the blitzsafe adapter that has "Dual Mode CD & Aux?"

Any blitzsafe owners please help us...

thx where did you read that? For the model I need on my 03 tl it just says it connects to the cd port. I wish I had a for sure answer because I was going to buy it tomorrow. I hope it is a matter of just pressing it twice. I hopw we get a answer.

I remember there was a Blitzsafe adapter for those with the external CD changers (Alpine and some other brand only I think) It was like 10-20 more.

I still couldn't find a straight forward answer on whether or not you would lose the 6 disc in dash changer if you used the blitz adapter. Basically I want to use the aux input for audio from a video source rather than for XM audio or another changer.

I just ordered my Blitzsafe adaptor from Streeteffectz yesterday. The HON/XM BS adaptor is $105 shipped. The normal one is $75 shipped. The way I understand this (I am doing my install this weekend) is that the BS adaptor will allow me to use the Alpine XMA-T200RF unit for XM radio and to control a CD changer in the trunk. I currently have a 2000 TL with single in dash player. The BS will connect to the back of my HU, then into a KCA-130B AiNet to M-BUS adaptor, and then to the XMA-200. From there I will be able to connect an Alpine CHAS634 changer to the XMA-200. The CD button on the HU will toggle control to the XMA-200 and then the XMA will be able to toggle between XM and CD changer. This is still theory, but Ron at Streeteffectz and my installer/friend both seem to think it will work. I hope it will because I am in my car for 130 mi a day and I am going crazy with XM/MP3 capability.
In case anyone is interested, here is my component breakdown.

HON/XM DMX PIO V.1 (BS) $105 (I read about some other ones that might be cheaper, but when you are spending this much money, make sure you get what you know is going to work.)
Alpine XMA-T200RF $149.99 + shipping (from crutchfield).
ARN CHAS634 CD/MP3 changer $229 + 15 s/h = $245.
I haven't purchased my antenna yet, but I am just going to get it from CC est. $50.
That puts me into this system for about $550, maybe a little more. I will try to get some pictures up after it is done. Sorry about the long post, I just wanted to get it all in here.

I just ordered direct from blitzsafe. $85 plus shipping. I got the one to run the pioneer 903. It will make it so you press cd a second time and I will be on xm,press once and like normal use of my indash 6 disc changer. I went with the pioneer because its control unit was the smallest, and my installer is going to put it in the sunglass holder in the ceiling.

I finally got everything put in and working. XM radio is incredible. It is going to make my two hours a day in the car much more bearable. The 6-disc changer with MP3 capability is also great. I now have about 70 albums at my fingertips without any work. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the input. Just to note, I have an 2000 TL-P with single in-dash cd and no NAVi. My alpine XMA-T200RF controls the satellite radio and the changer. The pictures are here http://photos.yahoo.com/brushbg . The free install is courtesy of my friend who works at CC and who I like to call MacGuyver. He told me while he had it, he would drop in an MDX engine if I wanted... I told him I'll probably wait until next week.
