if the headunit is XM READY then you just have to buy the xm reciever and that comes with an antenna and the module that will plug into your headuint and you will be ready to go

Depending on the brand you'll need: a XM reciever & an antenna (usually purchased seperately). Also, it may be difficult finding these (limited supply). Check Ebay.

What kind of head unit do you have? XM just released the universal tuner box and also the adapter cable needed for Sony radios (XM changed around their setup, so XM makes all the parts, where as before Pioneer made their own tuner box, Sony made their own tuner box, and Alpine made their own tuner box) the tuner box comes with the antenna as well, which is nice. Both the adapter cable and the tuner box should cost around $100.00, which is cheaper than having to purchase a Pioneer tuner box and antenna together (by about $50). The next adapter cable that comes out should be kenwood, the alpine, and then pioneer (which will be by the end of September). Hope that helps out a little bit.

If you can't wait to get the package deal, then go to www.xmfan.com and you can actually purchase a pioneer tuner box and antenna.

I have a stock 2001 CL and want to install an XM radion in it. I have it all hooked up, but I play it through the tape deck. Is there a way to connect it to an aux port either in the trunk or directly to the radio. I would like to keep the CD and tape functions. I saw on pie.net the hon-aux, is this what I need? Has anyone else tried this before?

Thanks

Chin - I would suggest putting the antenna inside the car, above the passenger side visor. Just take out the sunglass tray to install the anetenna and run the wire down the A-piller and into the center where the Aux box is.

Edit Chin - just saw you have a 97 cl, and I am not completely familiar with the car, but it should be able to be done with the antenna inside the car.

gmorg - get the blitzsafe adapter and plug it in from the aux box and then into the back of the stereo. I believe it is on the right side of the 01 stereo. You'll just push the cd button and it will go to cd 1 track 99 and you should get better sound.

If you are putting it outside you could put it just about anywhere, as long as it is easy to do. Are you saying inside, on the dash? I have seen an install done where the antenna is on the rear deck and it concealed well.
