Ok...I hate XM...and they'll probably shout "SELL OUT" to me at the next jock meeting since I work for an FM station...but I've gotta get it installed just so I can say "yeah I have it."

I was checking out Iggy's scan of the wiring schematics...

If I take the output of the XM unit, throw it into A12/A13 (both negs to A11), and then put +12V into A14 when the XM unit is on, will it work? I don't have a navi system...so there shouldn't be anything there.

 

Correct me if I am wrong. The navigator's voice only comes out through the front speakers and when the mute is activated, the stereo (music or radio) will still go to rear speakers but with lower volume.
I would suggest is to use frequency modulator by sending the XM output through the FM requency using the modulator.

I don't know how to do anything SwampGas when it come to the radio. But my XM & Nav voice work fine this was what I was worried about. The installer told me that the Nav voice would stilll work. I ofcourse have the FM modulator Pionneer XM universal model.

 

My whole point was to NOT use the FM modulator, since FM is only 22khz and digital is 44khz.
