which would you pick?

So I already have a new head unit. got the 12'' sub and now I am going to do the speakers..

But idk if I should do components or just get regular 2 or 3 channel speakers?

what do you think?

A good set of comps on good power. That'll sound better than (almost) any 2 or 3 way co-axial speaker. Check out the pioneer Rev series. You should be alright running those off your head unit and getting good sound out of them...

well the kicker amp I have has 2 slots to power speakers at 85 watts so idk if I would power speakers off that or my head unit. I kinda have in my mind components in the front and 2 channel in the rear

That would work. Sounds like a good plan.
