Exclamation wiring video screen (acura TSX)

Ok I have four screen I am going to install into my car and need to wire power too. I have been told not to do it directly off the battery. So my question is what is the easiest way to get a power source that is connected to the accesories power source for when you turn the key in the ignition so that I can wire my screen to it. I was told by a local car audio place to wire it to the interior fuse box. Has anyone with a tsx added anything to either of the fuse boxes.

I'm not sure why they would not say to hook it to the battery

Maybe they met to say make sure to have a fuse box or some type of protection?

Because they need to be Switched Accessory, not Constant Battery? : ) That's usually how those Chinglish manuals are written - I've rewritten enough of them. (Please note that that is a linguistic comment, NOT an ethnic one).

I haven't, sorry. The best way to do it (I hate mucking in fuse boxes) is to get a Bosch-style VF4 relay, and wire it like this:

85 - GND
86 - Switched ACC 12V (+) - the switched wire at the amp is OK. There's almost no current draw here.
87 - FUSED 12V(+) Constant from battery
30 - Switched 12V OP to LCd's.

This relay would only turn on when the key is on, and shut off when the key is off. .. but it would add no more load to any circuits in the fuse box (the .100mA draw of the relay coil is negligible, as long as it's wired to shutoff with the key...)

Whoops... before I get busted, that's NOT .100 mA, it's >100mA... my typo : )

Sorry.

Oh I see...so the screens do not come with a relay wire?

I see, says the blind man.
