Wiring: Factory Amp Question

Wiring: Factory Amp Question
I need to tap into the wiring from the factory amp for ACC power and ground for my Sirius installtion. I was going to tap into the cigarette lighter but I don't really want to remove the lower compartment.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the facotry amp is the small black box under the radio with the blue harness plug, correct?
I've found the wires I need in other threads but I want to make good and sure I am looking at the factory amp before I start splicing wires together.
Unless someone else has a better suggestion where I can get ACC (On when car or radio is on) and ground?
Thanks!

I just did what you are talking about yesterday, took a little while but everything works fine now, no problems. What you want to do is :
1. Take the top box out of the dash (it just pulls out without connectors) - you may have this done already
2. Pull out both blue connectors (power and speaker leads for factory amp)
3. Cut and pull back the black tape surrounding the larger of the two wire bundles - you are looking for the yellow wire with the red stripe(acc lead)
4. Cut that baby, then splice your amp turn on lead together with the wire.
Thats all she wrote - As for the ground, I grounded in the trunk, but that was for my amp.
