If you have a nav, don't get metallic tint. It will definately mess with your nav signal. Trust me on this one. We had someone stubborn ask us to do metallic, we told them "no" repeatedly, so they went and had it done from a tint shop...What do you know...it messed up their nav and they had to have it replaced with non-metallic and paid for tint twice.

I have metalic tint and it is not a problem. In fact I have my Sirius antenna next to the gps antenna (inside the car) and it works fine too. Perhaps not all metallic is created equal but try this. The gps antenna is roughly where I have indicated in the photo. Place solid metal over it while in test mode and you'll see the satellites start dropping. Now place tint over same area and see what you get.

I think you'll find it takes much more than a thin piece of film to block the signal.

The tint myth is total BS. I as well as several people i know all have Nav and metallic tint. It causes NO change. This rumor has been going around for years.

It's not always pointless to go with the metallic. I went with a metallic tint called quantum because it contains no inks, which means it can never fade. No purple windows in few years. Comes with a lifetime warranty against fading. I haven't had any problems with nav reception, so like others said, it may be a misconception.
