Will dynamat help the trunk rattle?

I noticed that my trunk rattles loudly when my subs hit, I didn't notice it too much inside the car but it was really obvious standing next to my car when the subs were on. Pressing down on the trunk made it stop rattling, but I'm not sure if dynamat will help since I don't see how it would place any downward pressure. Anyone know how to make the rattles go away?

You need to readjust the trunk latch. My whole trunk is dynamamted and after I was done I still had rattles so then I readjusted the trunk latch by moving it down a lil and it was gone. I still get rattle when my system is turned up all the way.

Open your trunk and look on either end of the trunk lid. There are two black rubber bumpers. They are threaded and you can turn them clockwise to make them drop lower.

Turn them a quarter turn, close the trunk lid and test it out. I have mine down a little and the trunk lid does not rattle at all.

good call nsxnext - that fixed my trunk rattle. Now I need to fix that stupid license plate frame rattle. Do I have a chance of ever tracking down all the rattles in this car?

I good method to tracking down rattles is to use a test CD that has a sine tone sweep from 20hz to 20khz.

You will catch most of the resonating frequency rattles. It's a lot easier than using music since it can sometimes drown out the rattle.

I was suprised to find rattling in the mid bass / mid range zones...

Glad it worked for you. As for finding all the rattles, chances are, are you fix one rattle, you'll start a new one.
