what's up with the factory cd player?

Um, so I just pulled the factory deck out of my car and it's horrible. The bracket from the factory deck doesn't match up with my new deck so I can't use that to mount it. The storage compartment doesn't attach to the new CD player either, so I can't use that. How does anyone put a new CD player in these cars??

I want to put my Eclipse deck in it, but it won't FIT!

The problem is: if I make it custom I don't want it to be the only thing in that double din slot cause it will look empty around it. At least with a kit, I can have the pocket. I wouldn't know where to start with a custom job either. I've done boxes, and subs, and amps, and all that kind of stuff and building them and such, but I wouldn't know where to begin with randomly building a mounting situation for the HU.
