In my own experiences, two 10's will knock much harder and connect better than 1 12' sub. Unless that 1 12' is a realy high end sub, and those usually cost a lot of money. Its a matter of wanting bass, or wanting tight bass that can keep up with the music. One sub ususally cant keep up with the beats unless its one of the expensive ones. I would reccomend the 10's, but if you can afford a decent set of 12' jls or kickers, you would be fine. You can get an awesome set of kicker 12's from crutchfield.com for 300 bucs. Check them out.

Actually, a 12" shouldn't have any problem keeping up with a bass beat. It's when you get to 15"s and bigger that they cannot come back before the next beat. If you are keeping the stock door/ panel speakers, or getting new speakers but no amp for them, then just get one 10", or one 12". Even a tube (bazooka) would do fine. If you listen to rap, R&B, country, or anything with deep bass, go with a 12". Are you keeping the stock sub? Unhooking it? A three-way 6X9 might fit there. As for A/D/S, I do not know. A Kicker solo-baric would be nice, some JLs, my Polks are great... but, once again, you have to determine the speaker, and box (ported, bandpass, sealed) for your taste. Crutchfield is great, and also check out: www.onlinecarstereo.com. Have fun, and let us know what you decide on.

Play nice...

It really depends on your personal preference. Some people might like two 10s better and some people might like one 12. If you are into sound quality, tight bass, then get one or two 10s and put it in a sealed box. If you have the A/D/S 12 already, just use that then.

I put in 2 JL W3 10's in the trunk, and it fits really nice in the back end of the trunk. the bass is loud and tight at the same time - i love it. i think that 2 10's are better just cause they fit better into the trunk and still give you enough trunk space. hope that helps,

It really depends on the type of music you like...If you like rap, hip hop etc...I'd go with the 2 10's simply because they will push more air, thus more bass. Rap is bass heavy music! Furthermore, two 10 have more cone area than one 12 inch sub.......This is assuming your running similar watts to both systems...

BTW- A ported box will give more bass than a sealed box with the same amp...Personal I have a sealed box. I have very low tight bass with a small box...I had a very small space to deal with so I went with 2 12'inch solobaric's in a .66 foot enclousure for each sub... I'm happy

Then again if you like country or soft rock ect one 12'inch will sound great and would be a good improvement over the stock bose sub...Yikes, that thing sucks....

i only got 2 10's, but yea, i'll take a pic thrusday cause it's my day off, then it'll prob take a while to figure out how to post it, but yea, fits perfect in the back end of the trunk, something like 32 by 18 by 14 or something, still leaving a lot of trunk space. only downer is that you kinda have to move the box around to get to the spare tire, but at least you still got one just in case you turn up the subs so loud they blow a tire!

Thumbs up

Looks nice. I bet they hit hard. Where did you install the amp? Is that box in as far as it can go, because it looks HUGE! How much air space does each JL W3 need?? Each of my Polk 12"s need just .88 sq ft. I think I am going to install just one 12", and push it with an MTX 2300. That shouldn't take up much room, and should sound fine. Does anyone know if you could install a single 6x9 where the factory sub is? I need something for mid-bass. Well, off to the stereo place. I think I would rather have someone else pull out the back seat and all that. Unless you guys think it isn't that much trouble.

Play nice...

well, there are some things in the top of the back that keep it from going all the way, like maybe a 3 or so inch gap. that's also where the amp is installed - behind the sub, screwed onto the box. it takes up so much room cause it's a high output box, so it gives the subs more air to move, but you could get smaller boxes but it wouldn't sound as good. as for the exact amount of airspace needed for the jl w3's, im not sure.
