What's the best way to switch between 2 video sources?

I have 5 monitors in my car running of a DVD player without any signal amplifiers. What is the best way for me the switch between 2 video sources? (I'm adding a rear view cam)

I am planning to add a rear cam also, so I'll be faced with the same situation.

What I was planning to do was just let the rear cam input and the DVD input conflict. That means the rear cam is always on and when I go to turn on the DVD, I must unplug the rear cam rca input, which will be located in my glove box. The rear cam might be left unplugged mostly anyway and I probably on play the DVD about 10% of the time.

What I want to avoid is having to turn on/off a lot of switches, I already have 2 toggles and 1 momentary.

Don't know what's out there that is inexpensive for a video A/B switch, let me know what you find out.

Where are you going to mount your rear cam?

Just get a 2PDT switch....meaning when the switch is in one direction, it shows the video from the camera, flip it the other way, and you have the DVD.....and yes, I can do it for you Dom

Ron, Have you heard of this company. They have this a/v switch. Looks like the second input is turned on by a 12v trigger, maybe tied into backup lights to switch to rear camera, else its on the 'a' source.
Maybe it'll help?

I dont know bro. Right now I have a DVD player with 2 "Video out" RCA jacks. 1 has a RCA splitter which goes to the headrests. The other goes to my RGB converter which sends 1 signal to my AVX and also has a RCA output which is again split for the visors. I got lucky and didn't lose signal that way. I either want the cam to appear on all 5 monitors, or just the AVX. If I use that switch on the RCA which goes to the RGB converter, then the visors will display the cam too. I can't use it on the wire that goes from the RGB converter straight to the AVX because its not a RCA, its a thick cable, I'm sure you know how it looks, you helped me set it up. It seems to me that the only thing I could do is get that piece you told me cost like $200.00 but its kind of stupid to spend $55.00 on the camera and $200.00 on that piece. I dont know, help me think of something. If theres no other way to go then I'll get it. I was thinking of putting a camera in the front also and then I'll have no choice.

kensteele, I'm not sure exactly where its gonna go yet. I have to show Ron my car first. Maybe behind the license plate or in the trunk keyhole. I'm thinking of getting one for the front too. I know theres no need for it but its another toy for me. BTW, I dont mind switches at all, I already have 4 anyway.
